    Exclamation Amateur Radio Forum

I believe it was John/Scan Boston that suggested in a thread somewhere that this site should have an amateur radio forum...so...here it is!

Any aspect of amateur radio may be discussed here, but I would like to see an emphasis on amateur radio operation/use in our area. I would particularly like to see healthy discussions with regards to the future of amateur radio. I for one see digital communications as one of its big futures. Of course we have two ways of doing that right now, P25 and DStar. I have P25 equipment, no DStar yet, but I think there is room for both methods.

Have fun, keep it civilized and healthy.

That's FLDGI. I've tried it, I find Ham Radio Deluxe better for me, the DM-780 layout is much more user friendly, easier to modify, and I don't have to hunt for anything on my 24-inch screen. I can't type fast enough for any of the other digital programs. PSK-31 is my preferred mode but I do try Olivia out. Currently operating with WSPR at 5 watts and amazed at what I can hear and where I am reaching. I leave it unintended for hours.

Please start a new thread pertinent to this subject. A lot has changed with regards to digital amateur communication since this thread's creation over 7 years ago. Thank you.
