    Default Oxford Police frequency

I recently upgraded my scanner to a bc796d and have entered some of the Ct state police frequencies around me. I have not yet heard anything local in my town. I assume the PD with a resident trooper operates on the csp frequency but dont know if they use a specific one. Does anyone know.

Oxford "PD" operates on Troop A. You will hear them on the Oxford FD/EMS/PW frequencies when they need to talk to those services or repond to a call with them.

The officers are state police troopers and are assigned to oxford and i believe they have a resident trooper--prospect has the same setup except that troop I out of bethany covers prospect. and they all go through the ct state police academy.

According to their web page, Oxford has 4 Resident Troopers as well as 9 constables (who are sworn police officers).
    http://www.oxford-ct.gov/Section/Tow...ent/index.html

Not an uncommon arrangement in the more rural parts of CT. The CSP Sgt is in charge and the other troopers and constables fall under him. The troopers go through CSP Academy and the Constables go through CT POST Academy. Here is a list from 2003 that gives a basic idea of how many there are:
    http://www.cga.ct.gov/2003/rpt/2003-R-0337.htm

CSP units use their CSP badge number and the constables use the assigned numbers with the Troop letter. For example, a Troop H Constable in East Granby uses HC-91 (thru 95). The ones I have monitored do not use the Tax Town IDs for their on the air callsign. (East Granby Tax code is 40, not used except to ID the town)
