    Default BC8500XLT Backlight

    I have a BC8500 XLT with a dead backlight.

Is there an easy fix for this (soldering is ok, I have pretty decent board skills).
Where can you order replacement back lights?

Is this scanner worth repairing the backlight on?

I remember reading something about the LCD backlight switch transistor being undersized in those radios, and a common failure point. There is an article about this somewhere online. A quick google search hasn't pulled up anything, but it might be someplace to start troubleshooting.
