WHDH just broke in with live coverage, they report the pilot was uninjured and walked away. Overhead shots showing the fuselage to be almost completely burned away with just the wire frame and tail section remaining.

Channel 5 crews now believe these reports came from motorists who saw a low flying plane and smoke form a compost fire in Braintree. I have not heard further from the State. Their where reports of a pilot out walking around but I'm not sure how this fits in. But it seems no plane is missing.

Well forget that and see the post below......

The fire in Braintree was a fuel company burning off a composte pile in Braintree.

The pilot of the downed plane walked away from the crash and may have called for help himself.

Things happend so fast yesterday that when we called the FAA for confirmation of a crash they originally gave us 2 planes down, the one in Braintree and the one in Marshfield. Before anyone got off the ground to put news choppers up the pilot of the Marshfield plane after the crash called a friend of his who's a pilot at the Norwood airport telling him of the crash. Since 2 of the 4 tv stations have helos in Norwood word spread pretty quick about the Marshfield crash. Before choppers went up the compost pile fire was reported in Braintree and then the FAA confirmed only 1 aircraft down.
