Analog trunking or conventional?
I would imagine it's at least as good as the BC125. The few times I've used it analog its been fine, but I tend to use Mother /\/\ products for conventional now. And the antenna matters also.

You mean what systems, and/or how programmed?
Do you use Sentinel or a different program?

Re: Merry Christmas from Uniden
Available for the 100? I may just have to give that a go. Any new features to the software itself? I have to admit once I ascended the initial learning curve, Ive found Sentinel very easy to use. If I have a pop up road trip somewhere I can usually get the basics of a local trunked system programmed...

Army/Navy flyovers
Keep an eye and ear out for milair activity all week in preparation for Army/Navy. The Chinooks already did low level flyovers during Thursday's HS Super Bowls ™ and then Sunday before the other amateur football team's game. There were motorcade practices in the parking lot and rumors were all aroun...

Re: Quality discussions
Couldn't agree more. This place is more like the 'old' internet. That other place is almost unreadable. I think one reason is that in the Northeast and New England, radio listening and fire buffing have up until now been commonplace and for the most part accepted. And around here there's also a high...

I just wish I understood any of the last 2 posts so I could get a feed up and running. Programming, and the types of gerbils needed to spin the wheels inside a computer always leave me baffled and walking weay.

2 Chinooks went over GDM* late morning today originating from Norwood and landed at Ft Drum. They were light tan in color (USMC?) and low enough to shoot some cell phone video.

TACO/SLAM non-IFE
One of the F-15s out of Barnes had a 'minor' issue with gear indicators this morning, (1000 local) which caused them to abort trianing and RTB after burning fuel. They declined an IFE and landed safely. Most A/A was on 259.9. A lot of good chit-chat between pilots. They were initially TACO then swit...

Re: Unfiltered ADS-B & the ADS-B Exchange sale
Whelp, this is exactly the info I've been loking for. I'm planning on feeding sooner than later. I live a mile from GDM (the airport) and a few miles from the beacon and need to change the coax on my antennas anyway so while I'm up there I can set up whatever it is I need to set up. One thing I've f...

About 1840 local on 303.1 ADS-B only shows KC-135s squawking in my listening area.

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
Command and Control from the national perspective is non existant around here. Using 'The C Word' on the fireground does not mean you are acually using ICS, yet 95% of fire departments do exactly that (I detest using ICS on 90% of fires but that wold be a whole 'nother thread). And police are even w...

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
All of which proves that an effective interop system needs neither to be trunked or even P25 for that matter. That's the most common sense point which is consistently ignored or advocated against by some manufacturers. The lower the tech, the easier interop becomes. A case in point would be Califor...

Re: Public Safety P25 v DMR
How long has Holyoke been using DMR? Before 2019? They've gotten SAFER grants in at least 2009, 2014 and 2019, and that's looking with just one quick Google search. It'd be a fun little research project to see how many departments that have worked against interoperability by using DMR et al and have...

Re: Buxton Upgrading
P25 is -supposed- to be the public safety standard, It's literally why P25 was created. What was it VSLEP and ??? were 2 digital standards initially and common sense initially prevailed to have only 1 standard. Any community that uses DMR for public safety should not be allolwed to recieve federal ...

I landed about 90 minutes before that. All seemed normal then. Runway had some snow, pilot didn't brake real hard and we had a much longer rollout than you usually do at the 3rd world Palace of Logan. Our approach seemed a lot lower than normal for quite a while, we turned in over Connecticut and ca...
