Re: Northbridge Fire VHF

Update from today (Wed 5/8) - today's radio traffic: all mobiles/portables = VHF A few hours today, they spent installing the rptr, and removed the former low band to VHF crosspatch. As of 5:02pm, they are officially on VHF repeater {output & input), and off VHF simplex usage. Second - police dispat...

Re: NE Frequency Database Updated!!!

FYI: The Maritime Licenses in MA page ( http://www.scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php?t ... nses_in_MA ) still has the old data from the last FCC license import. Was the "MC" (coastal group) FCC licenses included in with this FCC database update?

Re: Horseneck Beach

few years ago now, friend of mine used to work there as a full-time lifeguard. They used DCR Channel 15 (Parks/Recreation) 151.370 simplex PL 71.9. Each lifeguard stand had a DCR VHF portable radio. Though not allowed to carry it if a rescue might be needed, they left it at the lifeguard stand.

Re: MA > Worc Cnty > Worcester County Municipal Departments and Utilities

Hey There: If you plan to keep the old (discontinued freqs) data, then the record row needs to say "old", "no longer in use", etc. If you view it now, there are two listings for Warren DPW, and only 1 is valid as of today. So anyone from the public won't know which is which, or try listening to both...

Spencer DPW & Spencer Rescue Squad (ambulance) Updates

Just submitted separate post to be added to WIKI: Spencer DPW currently operating: 154.1675 Rptr PL 85.4 They got off low band (45.240 MHz) & switched to VHF a year ago now. Spencer Rescue Squad (ambulance): 155.0475 simplex The FCC just printed their newest FCC license on March 13, so it appears th...

MODERATOR I have NO clue why this post ended up here. I had clicked "preview" to view what I had typed. I then edited the wording, and clicked "submit" to submit the correct post. After it posted the "actual post", it somehow posted my "internal preview" one as a duplicate record. Just wanted to sha...

Thank you Scott for your past dedication to this website! Re: Northbridge Fire VHF

Update from Sat 1/12 - today's radio traffic:

mobiles = VHF (ambulance 1 & ambulance 2) only.
mobiles = low band (Engine 1 & another fire truck) only.

So it appears only the two ambulances are VHF, remainder of fire vehicles are still on low band.

update: Sat 1/12 at 01:38am: you are correct, dispatch is transmitting on 33.680, crosspatched out on 154.3625 PL 151.4. At least the ambulances are confirmed transmitting on 154.3625 VHF simplex PL 151.4, no longer low band. and the water tank site is receiving it in on VHF, and crosspatching it ou...

Re: Northbridge Fire VHF

I had Northbridge Fire temporary locked out this week. But as of last week, they were only on low band. All traffic was crosspatched out on the VHF side. I also have the VHF rptr input in my scanner, and not a peep, yet. Plus I believe Northbridge Police (aka Fire Dispatch) is phone lined to the low...

answer: it is Boxborough Police I am hearing, not Holyoke. My Uniden BCD996P2 scanners (have 155.655 programmed in at both sites) and I get a signal 4 of 5 at the Uxbridge site. and it comes in full scale at my Palmer site, which is furthest away from Boxboro. 155.655 Rptr NAC $263 (Holyoke Fire, now Police usage)

Since the former Holyoke Fire 151.190 Rptr DMR CC5 FCC license expired, I decided to monitor the other FCC Holyoke Fire licensed freq of 155.655 Rptr, and I'm picking up police activity on it, not full-time chatter but "here & there" on a daily basis. 155.655 Rptr P25 NAC $263 It's police activity, ...

Re: DMR use with public safety.

I'll chime on what I know as a two-way radio tech. 1) analog comms are plain & simple (another agency with a radio on freq and/or scanner can listen). 2) digital comms are awesome, receive & transmit quality is much better than analog, but it's more it. a) I personally love digital radios, but I'm f...
