New Bedford Mun.

The Wiki show a DMR system in New Bedford using 453.4875, 460.375 and 460.025. Is anyone listening to that system. Also, for the programming on SDS 200, Is it MotoTrbo trunk or P25 trunk Wiki is not clear??

Thank you,
Chuck

Re: Best scanner for Bangor Maine area

I have friends in Dedham, Maine. In Bangor frequently. I stay at the Lucerne Inn. I listen using my 996P2 and hear all the services you indicated. On my next trip I will be using my SDS 100 with GPS mounted in my car and my 996P2 in the hotel. At the minimum, I would purchase a 996P2.

I hear them on LB on the Cape chasing ATV's and in Myles Standish State Forest. Mostly in warmer weather.

Re: SDS200 or BCD536HP...and a 396T question

A different opinion: I have had an SDS100 for about 9 months. I live on the cape and drive into RI and central MA frequently. I have had no issues. I use the GPS option exclusively, perhaps that is the difference, but I doubt it. Next week I will be driving to Bangor, Ellsworth and Bar Harbor, Maine...

I get the South Zone periodically here in North Mashpee. I have an 800 beam, LMR 400 cable and an Advance Receiver Research Preamp.

Re: NAC programming

Scroll too the "H" using the cursor, either 4 or 6. Then, using the "push/func" knob scholl to the symbols. At the end of the symbols and prior to the capital letters is a "blank" space. At the "blank" space hit enter and you are done.

Good luck,

Re: My Radio setup after 60 years in the hobby

Why so many radios: I had many of them prior to moving to Cape Cod. I had excellent elevation at my prior home in Worcester County and was able to monitor comms from MA, CT, NH, ME, and VT. Being retired with more time, the number of radios increased and I sold and replaced many with new radios. I h...

Scott,
You have not been out-shacked, you are just younger. I bet your setup is expanded by the time you hit your seventies.

Re: Vanishing Ambulance Services

I wonder if the Zello app. is being used by any public service and/or ambulance service??? I use it for family comms, works really well. Digital, encrypted and great coverage.

DMR question

At times (today), I notice that Eversource (451.25) and Falmouth DPW "hang up" and prevent my 536 from scanning. The signal bars, all five, are displayed, but there is no voice being transmitted. Any thoughts??

Have they given up with their conventional system? When I went off Cape on 9/1 they were using the trunk,10/11 and I am still hearing them on the trunk.

Re: BCD536HP and GPS

She said nothing, somewhat surprising, as I had my WPD 136 Multi-Band Antenna in the middle of the roof on a 4" mag mount. I also had the GPS puck mounted at the top of the "A" pillar. I guess, some folks do not make the connection if they unfamiliar with antennas and radios.

BCD536HP and GPS

I just finished a 30 day road trip with the a 536 married to a Uniden GPS. I was extremely pleased with the performance. Great technology, the GPS turned systems on and off as I traveled. I never touch the radio. I mostly used a range of 15 and 20 miles. My only complaint is that a separate category...

Austin Antenna

Cleaning out the garage, I found a "pole mount" for a Spectra Antenna and a Spectra Antenna. I decided to install the spectra setup and use it on 400 MHZ signals. I was pleasantly surprised. The antenna works almost as well as my UHF antenna with an Advanced Receiver Research amp tuned to 453-483. G...

Lots of radio and signal strength testing this morning, perhaps a new repeater. A much stronger signal here in North Mashpee than previously.

If you do not need low band, the DPD Omni x is an option for a multi-band antenna. I use one with a Jim M75 pre-amp works well for me.
