Re: Northbridge Fire VHF

Northbridge Fire used to dispatch on the District 7 county band 33.620 PL 131.8. Since Northbridge Police is now doing fire dispatch, the PD uses a RF UHF link frequency of 453.6875 PL 77.0 that is used to transmit/receive to the 33.620 base station on the Hill Street water tank. The 453.6875 patch...

Re: Mobile Antenna

The Comtelco A11331 antenna has a very thick metal rod and a cheap plastic base. They break very easily. The scanner master web site doesn't say what model the comtelco antenna is, but it looks like the A11331. I like the Larsen NMO150/450/758.

Re: MA - Lynn Fire Reconfirmations

Are these channels just for Lynn or are they used by Nahant and Swampscott too? Are all 3 departments dispatched out of the same place?

Re: Northbridge Fire VHF

Has anyone else been monitoring this? 33.68 has good range, and I can occasionally hear both sides of the conversation on that freqency, so some of the mobile and portable radios must be talking on VHF and getting repeated back over the low band. When dispatch talks, they go over both 33.68 and 154....

Confirmed. Lawrence PD mobiles and portables are being repeated over both 460.2125 $212 and 482.5625 146.2. The dispatcher is being heard on 482.5625 only.

Re: Williamstown/Village Ambulance

I saw one of the ambulances this week and noticed that it has been rebranded "Northern Berkshire EMS". I only had the scanner on for a short time but the info in my post from January still appears accurate. Williamstown and North Adams ambulances share the 155.8425 frequency but have their own separ...

Re: OneVoice TG 100600 Unk Ambulance provider

Does Medcare Emergency Health have a presence in the Springfield area? I know they are the main (if not only) private company in Greenfield and they do a lot of 911 work and ALS intercepts in Franklin county. The former Baystate Health 155mhz has gone silent so I don't know what they are using up in...

Re: BCT15XT HELP

The correct step for the VHF band should be 7.5KHz, yet many scanners default to 5KHz or 12.5KHz which results in some of those channels not lining up just right. The frequency doesn't have to be exact, so programming .2600 instead of .2625 should still work fine.

Re: Westover Air Show 2018

I monitored the Thunderbirds on 149.65 (diamond) and 235.35 (on the ground) both in AM mode. There may have been more that I missed as they were already in the air before I put my scanner in search mode, and I didn't research or program anything in ahead of time.

I programmed the new Rockland P-25 frequency in my 996P2, and lo and behold, I'm receiving it almost as if it's a local! Been hearing it now for 3 days and my question is this. Does a P-25 frequency travel farther than a typical analog frequency? I have noticed this with a few different P-25 freque...

Re: New Post Count, not dropping [unread] ??

I am experiencing the same thing as Bill. Clicking "mark forums read" did not solve the "problem". I like seeing the old threads that I have already read, so I don't consider this a problem (as long as the post list doesn't get too long). The problem isn't that posts are showing up as unread, just t...

Re: New Whistler TRX-1 and TRX-2 DMR/MotoTRBO Scanners

Does anyone have the Whistler trx-2 or trx-1 and a Uniden 436/536hp? Which one do you like better, what are some of the major pros/cons of each one? Thank you I have not used the Whistler, but I have both the Uniden BCD996P2 and 536HP so I can compare those. The advantage of the 536HP is that it co...

Get a ground loop isolator. It's a transformer that goes in line with the audio and prevents DC current from flowing while both the speaker and scanner are plugged into power.

Re: Uniden SDS100 Scanner

I have a BCD536HP and BCD996P2 side by side while mobile. I have noticed at times the BCD996P2 is receiving a transmission that the 536 does not. I have not done any real testing on it, just some unscientific observations.

I made additions to the wiki but did not remove any of the old info. I also did not change the Huntington frequency in the wiki. As I mentioned above, I have doubts and I believe someone should monitor it with a scanner before it gets added.

Potentially Townsend? Town has a P25 emission designator on their license. There is a constant data signal on 453.8250 that comes in so strong that I have never been able to hear Townsend without being right close to town. My scanner was always hearing the data. It took me quite a while to confirm ...

Yes they are. I have the Springfield FG channels in my scanner and have to keep locking it out because I hear Clinton FD.

Also note that Clinton MA FD is also on 153.8300 82.5, so make sure that you are hearing Springfield and not Clinton.
