Re: Unication G5 Dual Band 450-520 & 700-800MHz Voice Pager-Receiver

It was a PSR-600 listening on the EDACS system. I tried my WS-1080 on the discone the other day and got nothing. Next time up up on the tower I'll point the Yagi back and see if the new system is better.

Re: Unication G5 Dual Band 450-520 & 700-800MHz Voice Pager-Receiver

Something worth noting. I just plugged the G5 into my discone and am receiving the Worcester System loud and clear. Even with an 800 mhz. yagi 10 feet higher and pointed at Worcester I was never able to receive them. This is definitely a hot little receiver.

Re: Boston Dispatching other cities?

They aren't dispatching other cities, when fire alarm enters the incident in the CAD for tracking and moves units accordingly, the voice allocution on Channel 5 announces the move. Been going on for a few years at least.

Re: OneVoice TG 100600 Unk Ambulance provider

I noticed the unit number range, but not that it was even numbers only. The range concurs with what I've been hearing. The odd thing is that it seems they only do calls in Chicopee. Unless there is another radio system they also use. I've been listening to something else for the past few days, but ...

Do you have the entire system entered? If so, would switching to control channel only fix the problem?

Neither would seem to answer the questions about tickets, food, parking, at Worcester.
I'm selfish, Worcester, and whatever team they field is not my concern.

so, you answer is that I should drive 2 hours to see a less competitive game at a higher cost? Portland is two hours from where I live. They probably use "Nextel" generically for any push to talk phone based system. Assuming there is one available. AT&T offered one, Verizon talked about it but never did, and Sprint failed spectacularly with their conversion of Nextel to push to talk on their network. Or they could just refer to any...

United Civil Emergency Services Agency

SHTF group in RI? I was looking at myGMRS's database and noted a "new" 462.700 machine in Providence (I believe it's formerly Eric Nihill's East Providence repeater since he has been out of the game for a while) listed by United Civil Emergency Services Agency as a closed system. A brief google sear...

Re: Monitoring High Flying USAF/USN Remote Piloted Vehicles

I know when my father was flying with VP-92 out of South Weymouth, I heard the P-3s on the Boston tower frequencies on occasion. The callsign they used then was just the tail letters for the squadron and the plane number, i.e. Lima-Yankee 7. This was in the early 80's so things may have changed, but...
