Lebanon Fire

Last night I heard Lebanon FD dispatched to a call, and units communicating with Sanford dispatch on Lebanon's local channel, 461.3875. I had never heard tones, on units talking with Sanford on this freq before, only Lebanon FD and EMS units talking to each other. Nothing was heard on the county 460...

Re: MSCommNet SDS100 reception question

Are you trying to monitor the Gray RCC site only? I would try adding the Ossipee Mountain, Mt Agamenticus, and York DOT sites. These probably have better coverage south of Portland than the Gray tower does. As for an antenna, any VHF high band should do just fine. I use a dual band 2m/440 MHz ham an...

Re: VHF/UHF Unication G3!

I believe the Unication pagers have SMA antenna connectors, so you should be able to swap the UHF antenna for a VHF one.

Low VHF and 800 MHz weren't required to narrowband, only VHF high and UHF. 900 MHz was narrow from the beginning.

From what I understand, on a Harris P25 system any frequency at a site can be in the CC rotation.

Interesting that they were licensed 153.995; Chester already had a license for that freq.

Re: Unknown NXDN Frequencies

FWIW, there is an NXDN control channel being transmitted from Mt Agamenticus in York, Me. on 452.4125. I don't have the ability to monitor NXDN trunking, so I don't know any details about this freq (or even which system is belongs to, it isn't licensed), but I thought I would point it out.

You shouldn't need to enter a custom band plan, just the control channels for each site. Which scanner do you have?

Re: MSCommNet Thread II

I received transmissions on an 800 MHz mobile repeater from a State Police cruiser today in South Berwick. 851.6875 was transmitting a P25 control channel showing a system ID on my BCD396XT of 0077h. It didn't show a site ID. I actually swapped that freq into my scanner as a CC and received Zone 1A ...

I hadn't thought of adding 155.970 into my radio after the switch to MSCOMMNET. Most IFW TGs are encrypted. Forest service is dispatched on the Zone primary channels, I have very rarely heard any of the Forresty TGs active.

I know a fire LT from NH. He reports that departments as far north a Concord have responded. Running cards go up to 10 alarms, and at last count they were 20 alarms above that. Dover, Rochester, and Durham from Strafford County and several Seacoast departments (Portsmouth, Rye, North Hampton) also ...

South Berwick Dispatch closing 8/29

Sanford will take over dispatching Berwick and South Berwick, effective August 29th.
South Berwick and Berwick frequencies are now patched together, and SBPD units are using 200-series IDs (Berwick remains 100s).

I'm not hearing an unidentified CC in the 380-420 band or 457 MHz band; I ran a limit search from the USS Albacore park, about 1/4 mile from where the ship is docked. Could be 457 MHz conventional rptr?

I don't know what the plan is for those freqs (if any), I would program them in as conventional freq so you would be able to monitor any activity.
