Another observation for today. I believe that the encrypted talkgroup 1841 is being by Central Falls Police. I don't know if it's regular operation, or like West Warwick, use it for detectives for some capacity. Can anyway verify if their regular operation is still using analog?

On Wide Area 2, they did respond in the clear "West Warwick has it" to State Lincoln. That is where I noticed the radio id was 2701.

West Warwick On RISCON

I now have positive proof that West Warwick is using RISCON. As you know, I'm big in radio ids, and by observing two different events, have identified them. West Warwick is using Talkgroup 1207 but no one can heard them because their transmissions are encrypted. West Warwick Police have taken calls ...

Talkgroup 10012 - Johnson & Wales Security

Thanks Mike. That's what I thought but after monitoring the past couple of days the calls appear to be related to a school or University in Providence. I'm gonna have to sit on this one for a bit to nail it down. That is Johnson and Wales security. I happened to be by one of their security officers...

I think that Warwick Police are using Talkgroup 1218. In the past, when they respond to calls on Wide Area 2, ids numbers began with 27xx. I heard of a ham group helped Warwick Police a few years ago, tracking down interference on their frequency. They said that they used encrypted 800 portables pro...

RIPTA also uses Talkgroup 186, but their transmissions are encrypted on this channel. Verified by radio ids.

Heard Talkgroup 112 on the RIPTA system. There long has been talk about RIDOT being on their system, but I noticed that on 112, it was RIPTA radio ids that were talking.

Also keep in mind that in some communities the people using the cars change but the cruisers stay the same each shift. Alot of what you have listed are individual portable ID's with some car ID mixed in. PD wise anyhow. Example if its S1 on days its still S1 on midnights etc. Not really. I watch th...

It's LifePACT, not LifePak. The Rhode Island accent usually eliminates the T. Also, Providence FD has no Engine 1. Used to, when Special Hazards was a 2-piece company, but not for quite a few years now.
Thanks for the corrections!

Talkgroup 1430 sounds like a police department. Providence Housing is now using their talkgroup instead of the analog frequency. RIPTA is on talkgroup 187 as they mentioned their new radio system on the RIPTA talkgroup section.

Listening to RISCON this morning solved another piece of the puzzle. It seems that any talkgroup above 200 belongs to a hospital. Landmark is on 207. Woman & Infants is o 216. I couldn't catch anymore then as they were going from the hospital's home channel back to Wide Area 3 whichI figured is the ...

They are still using it as backup. While main operations continued on RISCON during the storm and after, the dispatcher was also on the analog frequency with cars from the department. Coventry Police was doing the same thing. They have. Their VHF Has been dead since that post. Our WIKI was been upda...
