Re: VHF/UHF Unication G3!

I stand corrected on the AMP charger base. It appears from this thread on RR that both receivers are connected. https://forums.radioreference.com/threads/amp-charger-vs-g5-internal-and-external-antennas.377108/ Sadly, that adds $150 to the total cost of ownership; but perhaps worse, another item clu...

Re: VHF/UHF Unication G3!

I suspect East Coast and Ray's are correct as they move a lot of Unication product.

Really too bad. I am highly skeptical an internal antenna will be sufficient in the mountains. Even issued Moto radios struggle in a lot of spots.

Re: VHF/UHF Unication G3!

At least with the G5 the issue is not just swapping the antenna.
The UHF or VHF receiver has no connection to the external antenna (also no connection to antenna connector on amplified base).

Re: VHF/UHF Unication G3!

I'm pretty interested in a G3. The key will be which band allows use of an external antenna and how good reception is with the internal antenna on the other band. One podcast from East Coast Pagers claims the external antenna is for UHF. This is really unfortunate for those of us trying to monitor N...

Some additional information here: http://www.dailybulldog.com/db/features/high-winds-down-communication-tower-on-sugarloaf/comment-page-1/ According to Franklin County Emergency Management Agency Director Tim Hardy, three channels utilized by first responders were based off the Sugarloaf tower that ...

Re: SDS 200

Thanks for the review. For the moment, my lack of funds will force others to be the early adopters. I am completely baffled as to why there is not either a remote head or simply an app to control this unit. My hope is that a third party (b/c Uniden does not seem to be that proficient at app developm...

It appears Framingham 470.6750 has gone to P25 with a NAC of 302 for plowing operations. As soon as I am certain I will send a database update.

Thanks Dan.
Looks like I spoke to soon on the old frequencies.
While not normally in use, today they seemed to be simulcasting plow activity on the old 460.4125. Nothing on the old VHF lo (45.56).

New Natick DPW DMR

With snow on the horizon I thought I would share a new DPW DMR system I have been working to figure out. Over the summer Natick DPW seems to have completely stopped using their former system (simulcast UHF and VHF low). They have installed a new DMR system. The license is confusing to me (probably b...

I've been interested in this unit for the northern NH, ME border state police, fish and game, etc. NH is conventional P25 but is a real challenge to monitor due to weak signals and multipath. ME MSCOMMNET is much easier to monitor (even in NH). The removable antenna is only for 700/800. There are co...
