For "Free": Spring Project - Rohn Tower Uninstall

This is a project best left for warmer weather, but as part of my downsizing it is my intention to have the Rohn tower side-mounted to my house taken down this spring. I will move a few antennas onto a 10' tripod that will be roof mounted. This is commercial tower and there is a total of about 46 fe...

2019

Hi, As many of you may have noticed I have been away from here for a while. I'm working my way back from this hiatus and finding my way back into the hobby. The hiatus was necessary and all is well. I am downsizing here but I will be returning as time passes. Scan New England will live on. In all li...

For Sale: Multiple Items - Local Pickup Preferred

Hello, After a considerable hiatus from the hobby (which I will discuss in another thread in the near-future) I am coming back, yet at the same time downsizing, so the following items are available for purchase. I would strongly prefer local pickup ; if I have to ship it will be at your cost. I will...

My Feeds

Due to some life changes (not health related just to be clear), the scanner feeds I've been providing for quite some time will be shut down on Thursday 8/16/18. I'm hoping that someone will step up to provide replacements, if they are needed. There are quite a few Cape Cod options available now thro...

I also see a "normal" talkgroup of 100 in the DSD+ event log.

Confirmed here, and from the sound of it I believe it is a repeater. Good catch Jeff.

Re: Network 178 Oddities

I was just thinking the same thing and lo and behold here's your post. It sounded like 3202 may also have traffic from CH-13 on it, which made me think of that very entity. I haven't checked to see if their analog repeater is still running but I will do so over the course of the day.

Network 178 Oddities

I'm trying to wrap my brain (what's left of it) around why there are talkgroups on Site 2 (Mashpee) dedicated to simulcasting Marine channels. Using the updated 436HP I've found 3202 simulcasts CH-16 and 3203 simulcasts CH-21. I believe the Steamship Authority is still using this system and I wonder...

Re: NXDN for the x36HP scanners

Nice workaround Chris. Thanks for sharing it. I expect both Sentinel and ProScan will be updated soon. I updated my 436 last night. The process was easy. I'm following one of the Network 178 sites here on Cape Cod and it appears to be working great. Audio quality is very good. I haven't run DSD+/FMP...

Winter Storm Ri...nah, naming winter storms sucks.

My neighborhood got croaked by this storm, #3 on my all time list of bad ones since living at this address. The primary serving my street is on the ground and one half of a tree is upside down and in the wires, or what's left of them. There is no immediate indication of where this tree came from but...

Re: SQL Errors

I haven't seen any yet, but what time of day did this occur? During some periods of time, usually overnight, if the servers are being worked on I've seen quite a number of SQL errors get thrown up. But when it occurs my webhost emails me to tell me specifically what happened. I haven't had any of th...

I am pleasantly surprised at the ease of operation via phone. I'm going to hold off on Tapatalk unless there is a compelling plea for me to do so. Make it VERY compelling if you intend to! :D

Hope you're feeling better. As for user pruning, you obviously made it in under the wire! As for the file, that will be helpful to some people, no doubt. Thanks.

Any Need for Tapatalk?

The old forums had a Tapatalk setup, but phpbb is supposed to be very mobile friendly. I just tried it for the first time and I find it easy to navigate. Do we really need Tapatalk this time, and if so why? I'm open to it but at the same time I'm trying to keep this new install as clean as I can. Th...

I found the old raw files from the last update and dumped them back into NEFD so at least it works until I get to doing the real update. Hopefully tomorrow. Good night.

Well to cap off the night I tried to go one step more than I probably should have at this point and blew up the New England Frequency Database while trying to renew it. it's fixable but I'm done for the night; tomorrow is another day.

Re: Welcome to the new Scan New England website

The NEFD and Logbook search pages have been built into the website. Unfortunately the results can't be, apparently, and they still open into a pure .html page. There are links in the results to return to the search page, which essentially returns the user to the website with the full left side menu ...
