Eric, Bruce.

I've moved this to the Vermont Forum, so we can get further details on it before it gets added to the wiki.

Re: Final Siren Test - Pilgrim Nuclear

Years to DeCommission, but shut down, Nope Doesn't it take years to really shut down a reactor and keep all the stuff cool. It might be needed until all that stuff is out of there. Would be worth taking the trip to find out what radio channels the companies doing the decommissioning are using. I di...

Re: Final Siren Test - Pilgrim Nuclear

Reactor is fully offline now. Nuclear fuel is stabilized too. Now it's just a cold water transfer from the reactor to the actual fuel storage, and removal of the contaminated water. The chances of a meltdown during cold water transfer is nearly 0%. The meltdown risk only occurs when the fuel is heat...

Final Siren Test - Pilgrim Nuclear

Per Pilgrim Nuclear (@pilgrimnuclear): The final, annual siren test for the Pilgrim 10-mile emergency planning zone will commence at 2:00 p.m. today. This is will be a three-minute long siren, residents do not need to do anything during this drill. I wonder if they keep the system for other natural ...

I also heard some brief traffic on 159.7950 with a PL of 141.3. That frequency, without a PL is Holyoke F3 Fireground. Not enough to identify the user.
That could've been Chesterfield DPW. Not sure on the PL, will check my old books when I get home tonight.

Re: NAC programming

To reiterate what Gary just said, the "h" is nothing more than a display character. Just like the MHz at the end of the frequency, it's only used to indicate the NAC format is in hex.
It's not actually in the 3 digit NAC on the scanner, just on the front display.

Having gone to the Garden a number of times for work, and usually having my radio on me, I can tell you from the "off" times of the following. TG 110 is used by the entry gate security to the security office upstairs. If they use the radio, but more often than not, they call. 111 is the primary chan...

One Voice TG 600030 - Weymouth

Tonight, hearing 600030 via the One Voice network. Crew mentioned "Front St to Hunt St" then "Hunt St to the Cemetery" and "Federal St". The only city that has this combination is Weymouth. Loading and going street by street, I can only guess clearing drains of leaves after the rain. I am not close ...

Those are the standard channels used system-wide throughout the chain. However, the actual use in each store varies I've found out.

Some people have reported hearing data on 467.7500 and thought it to be related to Target, however I've heard paging on 467.7500 and have been no where near Target.

That's probably WCEA-LD, the LP station on the Hancock tower. They are going to 36 before 2021.

38 is still on their post repack channel 21 transmitter. I was standing in front of it about 3pm today, and it's still up at 11kW.

Not sure if 7 went off or not for the tower work.

I would expect from Middletown, you'd be able to get it. I know there is a North Zone site on the Water Tank at Kent Heights in East Providence, that is probably almost LOS to Middletown.

I live in Taunton, 15-20 miles east of the state and can get the North Zone here.

I can receive a few of them here in Taunton without much effort. So I would assume the 480 systems on the Cape would have...

They are installing equipment for the new side mount broadband antenna that will become the interim main, while the post repack antennas on the tower are installed.

Edit. To confirm that is exactly what they did. They are now running on their interim main at 982 feet.
