Scituate PD P25

Scituate PD have switched to P25 with a NAC of $545.

So if you run the channel with no NAC programmed, you'll either hear New Bedford ($232) or Scituate ($545).

Re: Unid dpw - 460.5375

What type of transmissions have you heard on 460.5375 that made you believe this was a DPW ? Honestly, at the time, when I first heard it, I heard the discussions of pumps and pressures, so I assumed based on that, then really just ignored the channel till recently. More recently, it's easy to tell...

So this turns out to be Blount Fine Foods in Fall River. Along with 453.1125 85.4, they are running two channels unlicensed on fairly strong repeaters. A DF finding and measurement has proven this from last night. Both have been added to the WIKI. They are licensed for four actual business frequenci...

And of course, some towns have had enough common sense to leave their Gamewell fire alarm systems in, so those act as a reliable backup as well.

Stow is the third town in the Commonwealth to use DMR for public safety comms.

Ludlow Police and Holyoke Fire both went DMR in the last 2 years.

Searching for frequencies in the WIKI

Just a note to help you out when searching for a frequency in the WIKI. Remember you need to search out with the trailing zeros. MediaWiki does not recognize partial searches. For example, instead of searching out for 154.31, you must search out for 154.3100 If you are searching for any of the newer...

Using my my BCD325P2, I was able to pick up 451.725 which is licensed to Merrimack College. It is DMR and there is PD traffic involving the campus. When I set to color code search, no code shows up, only DMR. I was wondering if anyone else can confirm and I was wondering if anyone else can get a co...

Whole neighborhood where I live has all gone LED. And the city owned electric has them on every single pole around here. Except for one which is still the Sodium Vapor (Orange in color) fixture. I haven't noticed any difference in the noise floor here, across the band. My new "smart TV" kills my low...

Not without software, no, until you're fast using the favorites editing. If you can plow your way through that process, it can be semi quick.

Question, how is yours on Image rejection? Mine seems to have issues in UHF only with images.

It's listed as omni-directional, but any pole mounted (what we in the broadcast industry refer to as "side mount"). Will have some directionality to it. How much is to be seen, but this model I know for a fact has a little pattern to it.

Not much on the P25 system that is not on the analog right now. 2019 is supposed to be the changeover. May not be a lot to listen to after the change though as most users will have encryption at least available.

And CT tends to be a pro-encryption state. Especially in Fairfield County.

Is anyone else can listen and confirm PL CSQ, or whether there is a CTCSS/DCS tone? Is it possible it's crosspatched to some other radio system? This has been on for years. Surprised it's not in the WIKI. It's also never had a PL before either. Always been CSQ. It's a strong repeater that gets out ...
