Radio Shack/GRE Battery trays/holders

Wondering if anyone near me (Sandwich) might have any of the black or yellow battery holders for Radio Shack/GRE handheld scanners that they would sell or have no use for. Thanks.

New posts in a forum

Ok, and I'm suppose to be a Moderator here?

How do I tell if there's a new post within a forum? Is checking the last post to the right side the only way? Why are some of the icons to the left of the forums colored yellow and some not? Oh, and did I leave the iron on?

Re: Mobile Antenna

Thanks for the replies. I was only curious about this antenna. I currently use a Larsen Tri Band antenna in my car, I also have a Laird 800MHz "stubby" antenna, both work great. While on the subject, how does the Comtelco tri band antenna sold by Scannermaster compare to the Larsen tri band?

Re: USCG Towers

So, in simple terms, antenna towers are no longer needed due to radios being controlled remotely? Are there remote antennas also? Sorry, I'm just not following the technical explanation.

Re: Mobile Antenna

That's about it, Gary. Was curious how it can claim to be tuned to multiple bands with such a compact size.

USCG Towers

CG Station Woods Hole and Cape Cod Canal (Sandwich) no longer have antenna towers on site. Is this a new trend? How do they communicate now without noticeable antennas ?

Environmental Police

The Environmental Police are a statewide agency that can be heard across the state on the MSP trunk system but I have a few questions about them; 1- Where are their stations/barracks? 2- I hear CHARLIE, OSCAR, and MIKE ID's used on the radio, does anyone know the regions for these ID's? Are they spe...

Re: Hyannis Fire

Their 800MHz conventional is actually, from what I understand, their primary. The talkgroup on the MSP system and the 460MHz channel are simulcast from the 800 conventional.

Re: Help finding certain freqs in greater Boston

If I may add to this; This website has arguably the best information for frequencies in and around the New England area. I'd suggest anything that has been confirmed here be submitted to www.radioreference.com for submission into their database. The trend in scanners seems to be moving towards the "...

That UHF frequency has been around for a while now, just not sure how long it's been used as a simulcast?

No idea if they are active. Last I knew all the town DPW trucks still had the low band whip antennas on them, have yet to see any small 800MHz antennas on the trucks.

Falmouth Police are back on 855.4625 D-445 now, so must have been an issue with the radio system itself.

Falmouth Police

For several weeks now, Falmouth Police have been operating on their Zone 4 talk group on the Mass State Police Trunked radio system. Their normal operations on 855.4625 have not been heard for some time. This has happened once in a while over the years and mostly it's related to an issue with the ch...
