Re: Base Antenna

I got this up today. Just the normal install antenna on the roof issues, socket to short for the U bolt, drop a couple of things which didn't roll off the roof, and so on. The good news is that I didn't fall off the roof. The bad news that the cable was about one foot short of the splitter under my ...

Re: Road Race On MSP SOPS-2

TG 215 as well, but I didn't catch specific traffic. It was all pretty much over by 10:00 except for breakdown and personnel pick up.

Re: Road Race On MSP SOPS-2

BAA Half Marathon.

The All Comm Boston trunk has race related traffic as well.

There should be some traffic on Boston PD channels and Boston EMS usually has a pretty significant operation going as well.

Re: Dispatch LTR reconfirmations

It won't hurt to reconfirm Talk Groups. My expectation is that users will be migrating to a digital system at some time. The only user I listen to is Armstrong Ambulance and they were active as of a day or so.

Re: Base Antenna

Today's windstorm rebroke my repaired RS antenna. I'm going to replace it, probably on Sunday. I've decided to go with a Tram 1410 Discone. It got good reviews on Amazon and is very well built from my experience putting it together. I'll have a whole winter to determine if it works well for my needs...

Re: Harvard University Capacity Plus

452.975 is one of the channels used by Gillette Stadium for parking control. DSD+ has hit on that and hijacked it, so I'm getting parking control today. I'll won't get back to listening to Harvard until the weekend. OTOH, I was over there are about 9:00 this morning and the parking people were out a...

Re: ICE MotoTRBO TRS Decoding Project

I'll add it to my SDS200 and listen when I'm out that way. It will be interesting to see who the user is. Listing to site 13 in Paxton hearing transmissions on talkgroup 584. Honestly sounds like a fly by night ambulance company starting up. Talking about jump starting ambulances and having 2 regist...

Re: Harvard University Capacity Plus

I'll grab the information from here and update the Wiki. We have your confirmation of 462.325 from last December, so I don't think we need to reconfirm. 452.975 should be LCN 3/OTA 5/6, but we still need to confirm. System was fairly busy today while I was listening. I don't have TG 11, but TG 12 de...

Re: Harvard University Capacity Plus

That all makes perfect sense. I've all seen hits on TG 11 and TG 12, but not enough to figure out who they are. What you have for TG21, fits in with what I've been hearing. Not security, but response to various types of alarms. I would expect that analog will be phased out as more radios are replaced.

Re: Harvard University Capacity Plus

As of now, 461.8250 is showing as LCN 2, OTA 3/4. I can't account for what LCN Finder shows, but that's what DSDPlus reports.

I'm going to do an update on the Wiki page with the new info.

Re: Harvard University Capacity Plus

Today 451.975 and 451.725 were active, but no other frequencies. Mostly TG21 and TG43. TG43 is definitely the shuttle service. TG21 sounds like facilities, with checking various alarms and to see of various devices are active.

Tomorrow will probably be busier and I'll try to listen for a bit.

Re: Harvard University Capacity Plus

My reception of that system is spotty at best. This afternoon I was getting 451.975 as LCN 4, OTA 7/8 as the Rest Channel. I'm not 100% sure that's accurate though. The Color Code was 8. As to changing LCNs as frequencies are converted over from the old system, I'd say it's possible, if not very com...

464.6875 under call sign, WRED772 Applied Communications. Site on Copicut Hill in Fall River. Other frequencies on that license are 463.3125 and 464.6875. Licensed as YG trunked, but seem more like conventional with a constant carrier. DSDPlus shows it as DMR (KENW), so it seems that they are using ...

463.2125 & 463.9625

Both are running DMR with CC: 9. Both have the same series of TGs and Aliases. On 463.9625, there is traffic related to Franklin High School. On 463.2125, there is traffic that seems to be related to schools in Brockton. Both frequencies have "VP Base 6" as an alias. Slot use seems to be random, alt...

Re: RDC Network 178 observations

I listened to Plymouth today and heard traffic on LCN 780, nothing on LCN 109. Must have just been luck of the draw. Plymouth is RAN 3 not 2, which I guess is a typo. As of this afternoon, on Site 4 (Boston) I had the following channels active, 470.3250 801 CC 471.2250 802 Voice 472.0250 803 Voice E...

I've been listening to Site 3 for much of the morning. The only active channels shown are 462.150, 462.350, and 464.7374. 451.350 used to be active, but I haven't seen it at all this morning. It might make sense to remove channels 501, 514, 536, and 556 from the sites where they aren't active. Proba...

I think for the SDS radios, it's more a matter of getting used to the radio and doing fine tuning. It took me a while to get it all sorted out, but I really like my SDS200 now. Re: RDC Network 178 observations

I was pleasantly surprised with how much improvement there was with the x35HP digital audio processing in the last update. So much so, that I've put off replacing my 436Hp with a SDS100 and decided to keep my second 536HP. My SDS200 seems sensitive on UHF, but sometimes analog audio is "erratic." I'...
