Re: NXDN Network 178 Site 13

Looking at the FCC information for RDC isn't all that illuminating. It's possible that there are several different licensees involved. Tracking that down might require searching by frequency. Wonky is a good term for it, and the FCC data doesn't seem to be all that up to date. If the neighbor sites ...

Re: NXDN Network 178 Site 13

Nothing up here in Stoughton. In New Bedford that frequency MIGHT be part of their Cap+ trunk system. I still haven't had the time to drive down towards there and figure that entire system out. All of which is to say, that I don't think they'd be part of a NXDN commercial system. Then again, it's Ne...

Re: Boston Marathon 2019

Driving into Boston just now I heard 12289 on the 700Mhz Overlay. Sounded like a medical proceed out team, but not Boston EMS. It's starting to get busy as "the pack" starts to hit the last couple of miles. Add 12291 to the list. Sounded like a medical tent, requesting a BLS or ALS ambulance for tra...

Yes, they did. I missed it, but the guy who has the seats next to mine mentioned it. He said it was very impressive.

Re: Help to ID

Thanks! I did check the Wiki, but somehow missed it. I did see it in the NEFD database, but didn't think that I'd be able to receive it that well here. I did notice that I copied mostly 6600 on Slot 2, but sometimes got 6500 on the same slot. That could just be due to the flaky reception. That's one...

Re: Help to ID

Two "Help to ID" frequencies 463.700 DMR Color Code 9. I get intermittent decode of the signal, so I'm not 100% sure who is using it. The TG is 6600, although others display, but I think that's data error. Sounds like a maintenance operation. I'm guessing south of Boston, but that's about as specifi...

Re: SDS200 Observations

Mike, thanks for explaining this. As I don't have any sort of interference problems, I'm going to leave them as is for now. Interestingly, I've started receiving a UHF frequency for a private ambulance that I never heard on the 536HP. That's MedStar ambulance "Worcester Operations." I'm hearing that...

Re: SDS200 Observations

I've been reading about filters and still have no idea. Most of mine seem defaulted to Global, but I don't know if that's where they should be. Auto looks like a non starter because of the way I'm worth. This is like the digital threshold thing all over again. Yep, tonight has been a corner turner w...

Re: SDS200 Observations

I'm either very fortunate or clueless. Maybe both. I haven't had any need to use the filters or the IFX on anything. At least so far. If I find that I'm not receiving something I should be, I'll remember to try changing these settings and see what happens. There's a lot to learn with these scanners....

Re: SDS200 Observations

The last couple of firmware revisions have greatly improved the SDS200. To my ears, the analog is as good as digital now and I can't tell any difference between it and older scanners. They figured out both the crackling on PL and the muted audio. I don't think of us as beta testers as early adopters...

Re: SDS200 Observations

I'm surprised at your issue. Most of my programming consists of 700/800/900 trunked systems and UHF analog and P25, with some DMR and NXDN mixed in. That being said, I have a number of VHF frequencies in there was well. I've had no issues with overload on any band. I'm going to listen in on the Wx c...

Re: SDS200 Observations

The audio is great. It got better today with another firmware update. P25, NXDN, and DMR are all very good. Analog is good, too. I don't know about Pro Voice as I don't have it on my SDS200. I hear the P-25 audio is much better than most every other Uniden model? I never liked the P-25 audio on any ...

Re: Nexedge48 L65-1 ?

I was finally able to sit down and work in figuring this system out. I used a NooElec NESDR SMArt dongle for the Control Channel and an Airspy for the voice channels. Doing that, I was finally able to confirm the exact frequencies for all Channels. Channel Line up is, 1 152.0750 3 152.0875 5 152.200...

Re: Looking for Children’s Hospital Security in Boston

Try 855.0875 for DMR as well. The analog confirmation for that frequency is several years old, so Security could be on the Slot 2. I'm not getting audio (due to distance), but there is DMR activity on 151.985 with a Color Code of 3. Some of the Longwood area hospitals contract out security, so who i...

It would be easier to answer if you mentioned which troops you are trying to hear. There is also a lot of overlap between Zones and many Talk Groups are carried on multiple Zones. That being said, here is a very rough guide. Zone 1 carries non State Police traffic, mostly in the greater Boston area....

Re: 462.0625 - New

Do they sell steamrollers? ;) On a serious note, this illustrates the problem trying to sort some of this out. Multiple users, multiple sites, multiple Color Codes, often the same TG. Okay, I'm confused. You found Manheim on which frequency? Manheim Auto Auction also uses 462.0500, but they use CC3....

Okay, I'm confused. You found Manheim on which frequency? And speaking of confused, the 462.100 frequency is used by two taxi companies, as I posted about a year ago. One company on each time slot. 464.000 is active with what sounds like a security operation of some sort. Color Code 1, TG 1, SL 1. H...

Re: 462.0625 - New

From when I looked at the licensing information, it's on the monster tower in Quincy. I don't know how high, but I can here 462.0500 well into central MA. As a by product of my research, I found a NXDN conventional system on 462.06875 with a RAN of 5. No license data for that, but it sounds like a s...

Re: American Ambulance- Kittery

It looks as if Stewarts has bought the entire company. American ceased operations in MA over a year ago and essentially had only the Maine contracts left. American was owned by Falck, which is a Swedish company. They mostly operate 9-1-1 centers (or whatever number is used) in Sweden, but also own s...
