Re: Comtronics UHF MotoTrbo TG14 Partners Radiocheck

You're very likely right about Stanley's. I forgot about them, but the company has been around seemingly forever and does a lot of police tows. By "forever" I mean since at least the 1960s, since they were well established in the early 1970s when I used to tow cars out of there. I think the basic pa...

Re: Mass DOT

I heard DCR "Harbor 1" TG661 on the 700 Mhz system with plow traffic as well. Slightly OT, the City of Quincy Cap+ system has been pretty busy today as well. TG 10 is whoever does the plowing in Quincy. I think it's the Highway Department, but I'm not 100% sure. I thought that the data channel (851....

Re: Middlesex county PD MDC IDs?

At one time those towns were part of NEMLEC, which operated a lot like BAPERN and the Bristol County system. BAPERN was originally run out of the Newton PD, and numbers were assigned by someone there. The original BAPERN numbers started north, in Lynn I think. That's why Lynn has those single and do...

I know, but I don't think I'm going to have any time to get into Boston over the next several days.

Re: Dell - EMC Cap+

I don't have my notes handy, but as I recall it's on Middlesex Tpke in Bedford. I went by the Southboro tower earlier in the week and the signal was very strong. My guess is that the HQ in Hopkington can hit that site with no problem. The other two sites are lower powered and seem to be somewhere on...

Re: SDS200 ScannerMaster taking orders

The upgrade prices for DMR, NXDN, and Pro Voice seem to be including activation by Scanner Master before the radio is shipped. I have to think that anyone who is going to be able to operate this scanner is also going to be smart enough to enter the activation keys themselves. If not, they might want...

Re: Help finding certain freqs in greater Boston

Thanks. I still have it set up the same way in my scanner, but Armstrong seems to have disappeared from the Boston site and I only hear them on the "Waltham" site. That would be the original Boston site, I still have the old Metro Repeater site marked as Waltham in my scanners even though the site h...

Dell - EMC Cap+

I've been working on this one for a while now and have finally had some luck with confirming who it is. No luck with TGID yet, but maybe someone else will be interested in sorting that out. Update: TG 100 identifies as "Bedford Control." Heard on the Southboro site. Might be security. WPSN431 with t...

Re: Help finding certain freqs in greater Boston

Are you referring to the former Waltham site now in Boston or the original Boston site? I haven't had a chance to listen to the D&D trunk during school hours, but it's on my list. I've been working on some other unknown sites and systems. As you note, there's a lot of guess work or the occasional me...

Re: Fire District 8 Simulcast

Simple, like RADAR. The notes on the Worcester Wiki page say that this is a simulcast of 33.70, but I don't see that as a mutual aid frequency on the Worcester County Fire Wiki page. What is the actual frequency this simulcasts? 33.70 is the old frequency 31.10 is the new repeater which is cross ban...

Re: D&D Dispatch

Thanks. Of course when I set up Unitrunker, I missed the MPT-1327 check box, so the program didn't recognize it. I have it running now, but there's been nothing but control channel since I set it up yesterday. Not that I'm all that interested if that's the only user. It seems that some cab companies...

D&D Dispatch

I came across 484.4625 while searching around with DSD+. It's a continuous signal, so it appears to be a control channel. DSD+ did not recognize it, so it's not DMR, NXDN, P25, or other know digital format. Unitrunker didn't recognize it either, so it doesn't seem to be Motorola analog or EDACS. I f...

Re: Area Fire Alarm Boxes Update

Except of course last week when the 9-1-1 cell phone outage meant a lot of people couldn't call for help. A good number of people no longer have land line phones, so depend on their cell phones. BFD Comm. Joe Finn pointed that out while talking about a fire that happened during the outage. Someone h...

Re: Massachusetts Convention Center Authority

If I can make my way into Boston when there is something going on there, I'll give it a try. The LCN thing is interesting. I'll give programming the 436HP that way a try. The two times I've been there so far, there was nothing going on and so there was minimal traffic. I remember reading something b...

Re: Massachusetts Convention Center Authority

I did some listening with DSD+ and my 436HP side by side. LCN finder worked to the extend that is showed the same (294) channel number as you're using. I then listened in ID Search mode and got nothing. DSD+ shows the same LCN (589) as used previously. For DSD+ I found that I had to enter each frequ...

Re: Massachusetts Convention Center Authority

Good information, thanks.

I might have some time tomorrow to listen in and will try to nail down the LCN. Good idea running the LCN finding.

I forgot to ask, are you using a x36HP scanner for listening to this system? Are there any special settings needed for a Hytera system?

Re: OneVoice Network

I found Site 54 on 484.9625. The Wiki shows this as being in Paxton, which is a pretty good haul from me. Oddly, DSD+ shows Channels 1/2 (494.9625) and 11/12. The Wiki shows that and 464.7625 as active, but I haven't heard anything on the second channel. It's kind of a mystery what's going on with t...

Re: Help finding certain freqs in greater Boston

At least some of those frequencies are NXDN, but others might be DMR. Which doesn't seem to make any sense. 464.600 and 464.7875 seem to be in the NXDN trunk which is on the Baptist. There should be good line of sight from Big Blue to the Baptist. Some day, I'll maybe have the time to sit up there a...

Sure, post the TG information. I don't know why I've got different LCNs for 854.6625. 856.0125 should be parking, along with 854.0375. I don't know when I'll get back to monitoring, although the car show is at the BCEC and should bring some interesting monitoring with it. I get intermittent receptio...

They still have a walkie talkie system for back up. When one time loses the VOIP connection (which can happen), both teams have to revert to the old system. All of that equipment is controlled by the league, not the teams.
