After seeing a friend able to monitor some of the talkgroups on the Worcester P25 system on his HomePatrol-1, I decided to try reprogramming my BCD396XT to do the same. One might think that simply programming in the frequencies and talkgroups (via ARC-XT Pro) and reprogramming the scanner, I'd be go...

New Leicester FCC Licenses
While Leicester FD does have the VHF frequencies, they are currently only used for fireground operations. All tone tests, dispatch, and comms are still on 33.720, as recently as tonight.

Scott, are you saying that seller you linked to on eBay has run out, or did I confuse that with something else?

Like anything, it depends... There are some filters to block out unwanted signals: pagers, FM broadcast, weather radio. Most of these are known as 'band reject' or 'notch' filters, and like the name implies, they reject portions of the spectrum. If you live close to any of these typically high power...

UMass Life Flight - UHF ???
Just a short time ago, I heard Life Flight up with dispatch on 155.160, and the pilot asked the dispatcher to 'give it a try on UHF'. The helo heard nothing, and dispatch reported they made several calls, all no joy. I've cruised through the wiki and post here but couldn't find any info on a UHF cha...

Funny how that happens, Scott. Glad you found it, though. I am also chasing/resolving interference in (yes, in) my shack. Two big sources are the PS brick for my HP all-in-one printer/scanner, the other is the wall wart for my Western Digital HDD. Both are easily fixable, but I'm looking to redo the...

File request: BCD396XT/ARCXT/Worcester County, MA
Picked up a new scanner and looking to start playing around with it. Started building a file tonight with ARCXT, but hoping someone has one they can get me up and running faster.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Scott... Good luck with the move. Just as an FYI, something I noticed in the last 30 minutes that seemed 'odd'. I was logged onto the 'old' site for a bit, and exchanged a couple PM's with another user. When I went back to check for a response, I received a message that said to use the 'new' site. W...
