Exactly as Timothy said it. Several communities in the Boston area received an interoperability grant and these are the radios chosen. From what I've seen the grant covered portable radios only, but that's only from what I've seen and it's not difinitive. Personally, I'm glad I get to keep my XTS 35...

I currently use the permanent mount version and it's a rock solid performer. In fact it's on a par with the A/S Mon751 series of antennas. It's about 3 feet long, but if that doesn't bother you, I think you'll like it.

Greg, Did the Sox do nothing to improve? Let's review.... Take the Coco Crisp deal out of the equation, and every person above improves the position(s) that they will assume versus last years players at those same positions. If the Crisp deal does work out, from what I read about his stats, it may ...

Both games were very one sided, I thought. Denver played much more poorly than most were predicting. Which makes last week's loss by the Patriots much more frustrating. I can't help but thinking that if they had played better and won last week, it would be the Patriots going to Detroit in two weeks....

They're going in the very near future. That frequency will replace the VHF simulcast and allow other agencies that operate on UHF to talk to CFD directly or via UHF to trunk patching.

While I think that encryption isn't the best way to spend money, the purchase of a FAT simulator is a pretty good investment.

If you put together 396 files, I definitely be interested. I can also do cut and paste from the win96 files, so those would be okay too. We're staying off the Disney property, so I'm mostly interested in the Orange County stuff although I'll be interested in the Reedy Creek system as well. Thanks, G...

Orlando area

Well, not a surrounding state, but I seem to remember that someone here has traveled to the Orlando area and had some frequency information. I'm expecting to go down there the end of February and plan to bring my 396D along. Any information or even an ARC396 file would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Having installed more than one DIN radio, it would appear that the cover had to come off. The probably is a something under the cover to keep crud out of the radio if it's installed in dash AND provide for something to engage the DIN cage itself. The way the black cover attachs at the back of the sc...

Any word on if the BCT15 will have PL/DPL? I also didn't see a specific mention that it's computer programmable, but I can't imagine that it won't be.

About 10 years or so ago there a ton of them for sale at the Hosstraders Ham Flea Market up in New Hampshire. They were going for $25.00-50.00 depending on who was selling them and ...

I haven't had time to look at the new information, but is it possible that these are replacement channels as part of rebanding? The city spent a fair amount of federal money in 2004 to upgrade the system, I have to wonder.
