Paul Opitz / UPMan

#1 Post by W1KNE » 05 May 2019 13:11

An update from Paul Optiz, "UPMan" about his battle with throat larynx cancer.

https://forums.radioreference.com/threa ... an.388095/

Paul will be taking a 3+ month break from the hobby during his recovery. It goes without saying that we will be praying for his speedy and full recovery, as much as he can from this, and to have as little pain as possible. UPMan is an asset to the scanning community, and we wish him well here at Scan New England!

Merged into the thread to make this on top.

Paul, our deepest condolences to your family in this time of loss. Your insite and help were great to many of us in the hobby. Cancer sucks, period.

God bless you and your family in this time of loss.

Damn.

It's something of a cliche to say how somebody battled their cancer, but UPMan really walked the walk. From documenting his ongoing experience on his blog, to optimistically taking on whatever next treatment was recommended, to trying to continue his Uniden work as long as he could...he did not go gentle into that good night.

He touched a lot of people.
