RIP Neil Peart - 67

#1 Post by W1KNE » 10 Jan 2020 20:30

Legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart passed away. Rush' big break out in the US happened thanks to Quincy resident Donna Halper, when she was the program director at then legendary rock station WMMS 100.7. Donna started playing them in regular rotation on the Cleveland radio station, and helped them to get their break out in the United States.

Rush went on to be one of the most successful rock bands in the United States, with a legacy that continues to this day.

Neil was battling brain cancer and passed away quietly.

He was 67.

Like the song goes:
"If there's a rock and roll heaven,
Well you know they've got a hell of a band..."

And another kickass drummer.
