Another One Turns To The Dark Side

#1 Post by jeffkett » 03 Apr 2018 20:17

I had a little time today to play around with the scanners on the road....It appears that the National Cemetery in Bourne is now on TRBO/DMR. I was getting buzz saw on the 171.0125 . At first I thought they may have gone encrypted , as they always had been P-25 clr but was not seeing a NAC. For fun (although a sad conclusion), I programmed them in DMR Conventional and YES.... they have jumped the gun... The 171.0125 is now T/G 16777184 Slot 1 Color 1 .

Confirmed here, and from the sound of it I believe it is a repeater. Good catch Jeff.

Was a Repeater in Analog, so likely is in DMR

I see that TGID range down here in CT on a Hytera Tier III system. If it is the same type, there should be a control channel. That brand system has the ability to encrypt the CC data so it cannot be trunktracked with scanner or DSDPlus but the voice channels can be clear and monitorable.

Actually, I will correct myself. I just did some searching and found that is in a range of special TGs with DMR

The Unaddressed Voice Call supplementary service is a special type of group call which gives users the
possibility to define a mobile station's behavior which may be different from that of a normal group call, for
example special alert tones, and can be used for communications between different user organizations, each
of which has its own group definitions.

I also see a "normal" talkgroup of 100 in the DSD+ event log.

Late to the game, but, yes as mentioned above the National Cemetery is on Repeater. Also finally was able to catch the new? Falmouth DPW on 854.7125 T/G 25 Slot 1 Color 7 . Talk of "meters" and flushing. I will go out on a limb and make a call-- Water Dept. Did not catch any other T/Gs either all one group for all DPW or this particular user, time will tell. Another catch was the DMR up at Spaulding Rehabilitation on Service Rd , Sandwich..real brief comms...not able to catch other info yet. Jeff
