Nexedge48 L65-1 ?

#1 Post by campd715 » 12 Apr 2017 19:49

Has anyone monitored NEXEDGE48 L65-1 RAN:1 and/or L65-2 RAN:2 in the 152.xxxx range and, if so, have you been able to ID the user(s)/location(s)?
I believe this system is either in RI or MA but I could be wrong.

152.200 is the control channel. No licenses for MA, CT, or RI. I'll hunt around a bit and see if I can find any other frequencies, but that's a start.

Looks like a Part 22 License.
Try these two licenses.

or

This morning I'm seeing 152.2125 as the control channel. I'm not sure if I misread it last night or if there are actually two channels. DSD+ is showing registrations. TG 23 is active.

Bringing this thread back to life. 152.2125 is the control channel today. No neighbors listed. I'm going to let it run for a while and see if there is any activity.
Reading through the the information at the links which Bill provided, I see that the licensee is the same person who is licensed for this system Data Radio Management. That's a Cap+ system with little activity for the number of channels it has.

Now that the newest version of DSD+ is out, I'm going run it on both systems for a while and see if there is any more data.

I have L65-1 figured out, at least I think so. It's not exciting listening, so far being mostly school buses or vans. It appears to be the same company as this system, which I mislabeled as Data Radio Management. It's actually Radio Data Management out of New Hampshire. They have a website with some coverage information, but nothing specific per system.

The system is NEXEDGE46, RAN 1, no Neighbor List. The Channel numbers appear to be custom, but since I'm not familiar with any other VHF NEXEDGE systems, maybe not.

The set up is as follows,

Ch. Frequency
1 152.0850 (corrected)
3 152.1000 (corrected)
5 152.2000 (corrected)
7 152.2250
9 152.5125 (corrected)
11 152.5250

Control channel rotates. Channel 9 and Channel 3 observed so far.

There about a dozen active Talk Groups, depending on the time of day. All of them seem to be bus or transport related.

I've seen no Alias listings up to this point.

Some of those frequencies are wrong. It is a bus or van company transporting students or special needs. I've seen control channel 152.5000 , 152.090, and 152.2000 today. Not much traffic as it is summer but a lot of traffic mornings and afternoons rest of year. Use multiple frequencies nxdn system 65. Full bars on radio in attleboro ma so it could be rhode island.

As it turned out, there was substantial drift in VHF frequencies on the dongles I'm using. They are fine on UHF, 800, and 900, but require 55.5 ppm of correction on VHF. I don't know what you are using for the RF dongle, so you may want to check. I changed Channel 3 as the most current list I have on my DSDPlus. frequencies files shows 152.100.

It's not the busiest system in the world even during the school year. It's not a regular school bus company, it's definitely special needs. There is a similar VHF MotoTrbo system used by the Boston Public School contractor.

My main interest was in figuring out the channel order and usage. It appears that VHF and 800 Mhz NXDN systems use custom channel numbering. I haven't run into a 900Mhz NXDN sysatem, but guess that it would be the same situation.

Monitoring for days the four control channels are
152.2000 - 152.0900 - 152.2100 and 152.5000 nxdn 48.
Heard no traffic as the bus company is not running right now when it comes up in September I'll catch the LCN's.
Don't know if it's mass or Rhode Island
