Sudbury Police now P25

#1 Post by AFD94 » 22 Dec 2016 11:55

I saw on another group I am on that Sudbury Police has gone to P25. They are still on 852.9125. I am not sure of the NAC code.

I'll update the Wiki. Are they operating in analog at all or is it just P25?

Did your information regarding the Sudbury Police regarding their going to full encryption come from someone within the their organization or from the company that services their radio equipment? It will be interesting to see how they'll communicate with Cities and Towns surrounding their community, such as Framingham, Hudson, Marlborough, and Wayland who are not P-25 equipped if they are in need of assistance.

Also, are they using P-25 Phase I or 2?

Phase 1 & 2 only applies to trunked systems NOT to a conventional frequency

They are using regular P25 Phase 1 non-encrypted transmissions. And Kenny...why can't P25 Phase 1 be used on conventional repeaters? (Like Waltham, Lexington, Boxborough, Lowell and other Police departments)

P25 conventional is technically [P25] Phase 1, but there is only a need to ID Phase 1 or Phase II when it comes to Trunking
