Big E 2018

#1 Post by cdgordon » 16 Sep 2018 17:06

Since it has been a couple years since a post was made, I figured I would confirm/post what I could hear from home.
If you are going, here is a link to the Big E WIKI entry, last updated in 2016:
http://scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php?title ... ield.2C_MA
And a link to the last thread from 2016:
viewtopic.php?f=32&t=36833

I have heard/confirmed in the last hour:
851.5125 156.7 8TAC91 PD foot patrol calling in EMS incident. not patched to VTAC14
159.4725 156.7 VTAC14 . not patched to 8TAC91

On 460.1375, PL 156.7 (which is not on the list) I am hearing shuttle vans picking up and dropping off at different gates.

I am also hearing "possible" Big E comms on 453.4625 PL 156.7 UTAC41. I am getting a low, noisy signal so it is difficult to understand, but some of the references I have been able to understand could be locations at the Big E. Poor reception at my location so not sure if it is Big E and if it is, if it is patched. Someone else may be able to pick up the signal better.

West Springfield PD holds a low power license on the 460.1375 frequency.

Have either of you guys heard security on 152.9000? Was there at the fair yesterday, and today drove through the area, without a peep on that single frequency. The other frequencies confirmed have been active.

I have heard some activity on 152.900 PL167.9 It does not seem to have police comms, but more like operational comms (jump starts in the parking lot, don't block parking spaces, etc). The signal is also much weaker then in previous years. I do recall a few years ago there was very no activity on 152.900 as they were using an MSP patch and then following year it was active again.

I did catch a brief P25 transmission on 462.7000 NAC 155H with reference to Ch2. I have heard other analog (non BigE) transmissions on that frequency with a PL 141.3

Also Smith & Wesson has a security frequency on 152.895, which if you are not using PL, can easily be picked up on 152.900 in the East Springfield area.

Sorry, PL 151.4 for analog, not 141.3
