State ID 32048?

#1 Post by Avidlistner » 03 Aug 2012 18:40

I was picking up talk on 32048. There was not enough talk to tell who it was and I don't see it in the list. Best I can tell is it is MSP as they where talking about closing a lane. Does anyone have any info on who it is?

Not to be rude or anything, but if you did some reasearch before posting u could've easily found your answer. There are about 3 or 4 threads about this talkgroup. This talkgroup belongs to the mass DOT HELP VANS.

Actually I did try to research it first by placing it the search field and it did not come up. And yes you are RUDE and make people regret coming to this site to ask questions or provide info.

Shouldn't that TG be in the Wiki, if it's confirmed?

Indeed if it is confirmed, it should be included. A search using the Wiki search engine yields negative results. A search using the site's embedded Google search turns up threads, but it appears there never has been an entry in the Wiki. So if the original poster used the Wiki as his search platform his coming up empty is completely understandable.

If the talkgroup is confirmed it'll be added to the Wiki. It obviously has seen some use from several reports to include that of the OP.

Actually it has not been actually validated as Mass DOT Vans or the new Mass Turnpike TG/Now Mass DOT, much monitoring is still needed to Validate the actual use, outside of 3-4 transmissions

So this just exacerbates the idiocy of post #2 in this thread.... :)

Bottom line, proper ID of the TG is a work in progress. And again for what it's worth my apologies to the original poster for said idiocy. I think you will find that an exception, and not the rule, of this website.

I can confirm this TG. It is the Help Vans channel with the DOT. Listen any weekday between 14:30 and 15:00. You will hear all the vans (51xx - 52xx) calling in code 5 (in service) with the DOT control center. (HOC) Copied them several times this past week on zone 3.

Recently I heard a few talkgroups not listed in the Wiki or Mr. Johnson's site. Haven't figured out what they are yet, but is there a thread where unknown talkgroups are mentioned? Unfortunately I cannot locate the piece of paper where I jotted them down.

There are many new talk groups, some are re-farmed from different talk groups and we have a crew of people trying to identify them. We have a few identified but waiting on more before we put any kind of listing in the wiki. If anyone has some input, bring it on.

Some that I heard today makes me think DOC. On 47408 - "Leaving Dorchester" which made me think Dorchester Court?? The others, all active in the Metro Boston Area, include 47920, 47888, 46640 & 50800. Not enough chatter and/or too scratchy to pinpoint anything.

However, today on 32048 there was a quick comm mentioning HOV (I am quite sure is was HOV and not HOC). Then two more calling Code 4.

Also hearing 48016 calling in plate numbers and addresses in Boston. Parking control, MBTA?

Much of that is in the wiki, Boston city Services, in the 45000 range on up. http://scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php?title ... y_Services

Chief, what Zone are you getting these on ? Zone 3? Odd as we thought these would be Zone 1 Only.

The TG's in the 42xxx thru approx 50xxx are all the migrated TG's from the City of Boston TRS that was consolidated over to the MSP Zone 1.
47408 - Suffolk Cnty SO - Transportation
47888, 47920, 48016 - BTD Ch.01, Ch.02 & Ch.05
46640 - might be Boston Muni PD
50800 - we have heard Boston PD when they do ALL-channel broadcasts

32048 seems to be [change from MTA to MDOT] the channel assigned to the CVS/SAM/Help Vans - still trying to narrow down the actual Agency/usage outside of the Vans.

Most of what we believe are the Mass DOT talk groups, such as 32048, seem to be on multiple zones. I heard a transmission on it yesterday mentioning 91, which is of course way out there in the badlands of wild west Massachusetts. It was on Zone 3 and 5, could have been on others.

I hear the Commerce Help Vans on this talkgroup all the time on Zone 8. I hear them signing off with HOC and to the Troop C barracks on 33776 C-PTL-1.
