This evening, 12/24, at approximately 19:00 I heard Boston Police Dispatch put out a NORAD Santa advisory on Boston Police channel 1 (460.3500 Citywide-Special Events). They mentioned that it was time for all young children to be getting ready for bed to prepare for Santa's arrival. They also stated that both Mayor Walsh and Police Commissioner Evans requested that all officers assist Santa this evening in any way that they could. In addition they asked that all area police stations have cookies and milk out for Santa and carrots available for his reindeer.

I don't regularly monitor Boston Police channel 1 down here in Fall River but I had an old crystal scanner that was on monitoring a local working fire (in Fall River) and that scanner just happened to also have the crystal in it for Boston PD channel 1. I have to admit the broadcast advisory caught me by surprise!

Merry Christmas to everyone here on Scan New England!
