Verification of Zone 8 Frequencies

800 MHz rebanding is a hot and controversial topic. As it becomes closer to and eventually a reality, it can be discussed exclusively in this forum.

Verification of Zone 8 Frequencies

#1 Post by johnmac » 11 Jul 2013 15:57

Looking for verification of the rebanded MSP zone 8 frequencies -

The Wiki shows a frequency of 853.4750. When I run Unitrunker that frequency does not come up and it also ends in a 0 not a 5. Is this a typo or does it not belong at all? I show 10 active frequencies on Zone 8.

When running Unitrunker I show all the frequencies listed in the Wiki but 853.4750, plus the extraneous 861.2375 that has no hits since early June.

Any thoughts!!

Since zone 8 rebanded around May 1 I have been getting the following:

854.1875 cc
854.4125
854.4875
854.7375 P25
855.1625 cc
855.6125 cc
856.2375
857.2375 P25
859.3625 cc

No activity on the 860 frequencies since around May 1.

Are you talking about Zone 20? That (853.4750) was confirmed a month ago.

Well 853.4750 is a voice channel on Zone 8, not a control channel. It may have limited traffic due to Zone 20 use as a control channel.

A problem with Unitrunker is that it doesn't show or log certain system activity. One thing would be when all the frequencies are in use. Trunk88, another program that can be used for Motorola systems (3600 baud only), shows All Trunks Busy when all the channels are in use. That is what I use to ensure when I have logged all the frequencies at a site. Sometimes it happens daily at a site, some sites it is a rare occurrence.
