Rebanding - RIPTA

#1 Post by ecps92 » 19 Apr 2011 14:57

RIPTA has rebanded this weekend.

Can someone try the settings from the Wiki and tweek them as needed.
I did a cut-n-paste from the Nashua NH Reband for formatting.

For those in RI who might want to try some of the CT Rebanding, the RIPTA CC's might cause some serious signal issues from CT

Also, can we try and confirm the Rotation of CC's on the new system.

Thanks.

Ok, loaded it into my 396XT and it's working. Right now CC is 852.2125 (system 902Fh), getting 5bars with a RS 800MHz duck on. Just heard the mechanics (TG 80) talking to a bus with a battery problem.

Yesterday, and still this morning, the CC has gone back to 852.2125. It appears 851.650 isn't in the rotation.

Sounds Good, Thanks guys for the CC Reports, I think the wiki looks good, unless there are other TG's we are missing.

I have a question or two about programming this system. Im using the Bearcat usad to program my 396 in Mot type II standard mode but the band plan option is greyed out. It wont allow me to enter the band plan? I get the fleetmap option, control channel option and TGID option but not the band plan.I noticed in the Wiki it states that it must be programmed. I tryed it without but its not monitoring the control channels corectly and all I get is the dispatch I-call number that flashes up when activity is found on the control channel but its not decoding any voice?
Monitoring Station:
Alinco DX R8, Drake SW8, Icom R75, Grundig SATELLIT 750,Yaesu FT270,Uniden BCD436HP,Uniden BCD996XT,Uniden BCT15X.
Antennas: Diamond D777 120/300 MHz air/milair band,Diamond 2M 5/8 wave,
Diamond DJ130 discone,8 element 800MHz yagi and (2) 100' long wires for SWL.

Is your firmware up to date? i think the custom band plan used to be limited to VHF and UHF. The custom band plan is an option when you set up the site.

So I am trying to monitor RIPTA, and after a few days of quietness, I switched it to ID-Search mode. And the talk groups show up as i10001-i537. Excuse my ignorance, but what the heck is that? I've never seen a talkgroup look like that before. And using ARC-XT, how do you program it in.

Looks like a private call. Usually they can be monitored with a wildcard TGID of "i0" which is done by entering the decimal point as a TGID when programming by hand. I always set the private calls to a separate group key so I can turn them on and off easily.

Wasn't RIPTA all PVT-Calls anyway ?

Just to update the wiki, would you log the CC's each day for the next week or so, and we can then update them based on a good weeks worth of CC changes.
Thanks

Heard Talkgroup 112 on the RIPTA system. There long has been talk about RIDOT being on their system, but I noticed that on 112, it was RIPTA radio ids that were talking.
