RI VHF Intercity frequencies

#1 Post by W1KNE » 14 Apr 2019 12:29

Are either the 158.9700 or 154.2800 used anymore?

The Fire Test I only received on RISCON this morning, even the nearby towns.

I hear both Police and Fire Inter cities quite often. They are patched into the RISCON system. I'd still keep them plugged into the scanner as they are still used. Rhode Island Fire Intercity conducts daily tests on 154.280. Some stations sound digital. Others are analog. Depending which frequency or radio they are using.

In the past [been awhile since I was down that way]

But 158.9700 & 154.2800 both should still be in use.
Providence ran the patch out of the Sister Domenica Manor on Atwells Ave

It was a two way patch so anything that comes in on 800 goes back out
on VHF, and vice versa.

Many of the agencies, both PD & FD still use the original VHF equipment.

Most of the fire apparatus still have vhf antennas for 154.2800.

Yeah I am aware of that. I made a mistake on my end, which is why I was not receiving anything. Carry on, I'll be fine... haha.
