N1ZZN Marshfield 900 - Can you hear me?

Post by Scott »

If anyone is around on 900 MHz can you give me a call on NEAR-900? I have my GTX back online and I'd like to see if I'm hitting the Marshfield repeater. KC1UA for those unfamiliar. Thanks.

Scott,
I could hear you better that you could hear me. I could copy all of your transmissions, but it sounded like their was something mixing with your audio (intermod sounding). I can't say for sure if it was on your end, someone better established near a 900 machine could probably give you a more forensic signal report.

Hi Jeremy,

The intermod you heard might have been a scanner I had running that was pickup up some actually. I'm running a search of 164-168 with one of the Unidens and something is killing it in the 168 MHz range.

Thanks for trying. You were breaking up pretty bad.

Your explanation sounds likely for what I heard.
My 'station' a three watt portable trying to get over the hills to Wrentham, can't say I'm surprised.

There are a myriad of Part 15 devices all over the place that cause varying amounts of interference of 900 machines. You could have very well heard some of that. Stuff like baby monitors are loaded up in the 900 range.
