2m HT antenna

#1 Post by schwab » 26 May 2016 19:21

I'm in the market for an antenna for my CS-751 (Female SMA). I'm looking for something tough/'Public Safety'-grade. I had a Smiley antenna on it, but a low-level fall snapped the connector off. Suggestions?

You must have the lemon. I have several Smiley's and have had them for over 30 years. They've all taken various tumbles and stood up to the test.

I'm not sure how it would look on that radio but you could try one of the HT1000/XTS5000 vhf antennas. In my experience they are tough and perform well.

If you don't need low profile, this is my go to on VHF: http://www.motorolasolutions.com/en_us/ ... leproducts

ebay has a wide selection.

Is that the right connector type (female SMA)?

yup, that's why I recommended it. All the Motorola public safety portables since the Saber have used the female SMA connector.
