Scott, Mark will either of you be joining us this year? I'd even consider a hotel experience if we wanted a weekend of scanner talk in NH bars?

Any of you know what frequency the micro broadcasters are on, if any? I wasn't able to find them at the last one.

Well all kidding aside NEAR-Fest is the best of the Ham Radio Flea markets in our area and all these events need your help. With Ebay and other Internet options cutting greatly into the market attendance is off on these local outdoor events. At the same time their costs keep going up. They will only remain if they are well attended by both buyers and sellers. Please make a special effort to attend this weekend and chime in so folks will know your coming!

443.850 Epsom NH W1ASS 88.5in and out (495 to the Fairgrounds. I can't stress this repeater enough add it to your radios now!)
GEMOTO 900 On Site Repeater (WA1NVC) 927.5875out 100.0 902.5875in 131.8 (most active)
GEMOTO/PRA UHF Analog Simplex 446.200S 131.8

DMR folks the Hudson NH VHF repeater will be onsite

Hope to see everyone there 9a Friday to 2p Saturday more info at http://NEAR-Fest.com FUN, FUN, FUN!!! John K1BOS

I went to the GeMoto/Pentucket tent this morning and there was no one there. I returned later, but no one from GeMoto was there.

The only time anyone was at GETMO seemed to be the Free Chow line

Seemed a lot of Commercial Vendors were missing this year and it wasn't as crowded as in years past.
Did vendor depart after Friday and not Stay for Saturday ??

That's a great price. I saw one (or maybe a Pro 197) for about $170.00. I wasn't that interested in it as I have more than enough scanners. Lots of DMR radios around, but I'm not ready to take that plunge yet.

I will say, that this was the nicest weather at Near Fest in a long time.

Another great NEARFest is in the books! Weather was probably the best we've ever seen. Not a drop of rain for the entire duration of the event. There was barely even a cloud in the sky. The only complaints I've heard have been about sunburn and the annoying bees everywhere.

The crowd should have been bigger today (no I'm not complaining, I even enjoyed this year's spring fest...), but some were probably scared as it was raining down south this morning.

Hello,

I saw a Pro-668 for $210, but I already have one. I ended up buying a couple of cables, a SMA 10db Attenuator, and a couple of Lenovo Laptop Power Supplies at MIT on Sunday. It is interesting to see of the equipment like a Hammarlund HQ-215. I did not know they made anything solid state. I am all set in the radio department, so I mainly went for the social aspect. I saw a former co-worker who is moving to Arizona.

That Pro-668 was in the next aisle over directly across from where I was set up. If I didn't have my Pro-106, I would have bought it. The same guy also had a Pro-651 for $180, and either a Pro-652, or Pro-197, plus a few HT's (Alinco, Baofeng). The guy was complaining that the 668 was too hard to operate. He did not have any computer software to program it. As far as I know, he went back home with it.
