Transit Civil Air Patrol Aircraft Air/Air Comms

#1 Post by NIGHTHAWK01 » 05 Jan 2013 15:13

Interestingly CAP 3730 (self ID'd as a Cessna 172), ID'd to Flight Watch (on 122.00) enroute from Fitchburg to Harrisburg (PA) at Flight level 6.5K, giving a PIREP while flying over Westover ARB. After the PIREP also noted check in with Bradley approach control 125.35 and there's was some informal chatter on 123.10 with another CAP 37XX aircraft regarding the performance of the aircraft after repair. Interestingly on use of 123.10 since is only suppose to be used for actual SAR ops.

Actually, I believe 123.000 is the SAR frequency...

Nope, Ken is correct. NIFOG, page 83.

123.00 is a UNICOM frequency for small airfields

Ah, you're right. My mistake. That's what I get for relying on my memory...
