Lawrence PD Digital?

#1 Post by TheDoza79 » 14 Sep 2018 21:12

460.2125 NAC 212, registered to Lawrence Police. Seems to be a lot of Police traffic on this frequency. Anyone else hearing the same things as I am?

Confirmed. Lawrence PD mobiles and portables are being repeated over both 460.2125 $212 and 482.5625 146.2. The dispatcher is being heard on 482.5625 only.

In the clear or encrypted? A post on RR (with no sources cited) stated they would be encrypted on the new system.

Yes, they will be. The system isn't online yet. This is just an early stage testing.

Copying the 460.2125 $212 almost exactly 100 miles away in Northcentral CT.

Rumor has it that their going back and forth on encrypting patrol operations. It makes sense as they may block out the Fire and EMS users who are all separately dispatched, and frequently monitor the LPD Operations channel. Sounds like the detectives and narcotics will each have their own frequencies that will be secure, and they are debating on a secondary patrol frequency that will likely be secure as well. Still in the early stages, but all LPD officers have been issued new portable radios, they're working on outfitting the cruisers.
