Re: Rioting/protest monitoring thread

Supposedly a certain band of facists are planning a march in Fitchburg on Wednesday mid-day. I'm working so won't be able to (or won't) update anything and as of now have no info on contingency plans. There are multiple interop repeaters on top of the quarries, so it'll be interesting to see what ge...

Ashby's signal is very weak. Barely readable in parts of Fitchburg.

That's gonna be awful disappointing to a lot of people who stood to make a lot of money by not exactly telling the truth (read: salesmen).

Re: ADS-B

During the flyover the other day the F-15s didn't show up on the ADSB exchange. Nor did they show up on PlaneSpotter.

Would it be that they there was no one close enough feeding it? Or do fighters not run ADSB? (Which I would find unlikely in an metro area)

I hear car-car transmissions every now and then, can't remember exactly which, but 42.42 I think is one.

With the amount of P25 in NH, I'd spend the extra money for the better digital voice quality.

Re: Joint Base Cape Cod Field Hospital Thread

Well, I Know out here, our usual medicals are way down, but that's because the boo-boo's, band aid's and babies aren't calling for an orange & white taxi ride for 'someone to talk to.' There are virus calls, serious calls, and deaths. It's not hype, it's not nonsense. Before we had better info on ex...

Re: Looking for advice on a new scanner

I have a 436 & SDS100. The SDS does operate better on simulcast digital systems. On analog (State Police Central Mass) not so much. The digital audio is also better on the SDS. The SDS also is firmware upgradable. It's pricier for sure, but when the state goes fully digital, how much TDMA will there...

Re: Looking for advice on a new scanner

If you want to future proof yourself, don't look at the price and just get an SDS100.

The learning curve is steep, but right now is a great time to invest in learning the software and radio.

Re: Tom Brady leaving New England

Both Belichek and Brady are hard headed, errrrrr strong willed. Brady while wanting a few more years had Father Time begin his move on him when he didn't have the most offensive talent around him. Bad timing. Belichek is as sentimental as a Klingon and only sees what's ahead in terms of numbers and ...

Re: 2020 St. Patrick's Parade in South Boston canceled amid coronavirus concerns

Literally the only things going on in the world (subject to change at any second) was college wrestling not affiliated with the NCAA, WWE I think, UCF (whatever the big money MMA is called)--but they are being tapped in a private arena I think, and a lower division soccer league in Mexico or somewhe...

A "van packed with communications equipment".......... Excuse me while I throw up. Anyone every hear of the FieldCom program maybe 15 years ago? The Mass Chiefs got together and bought 6 Sprinter vans at $300K a piece that were dispersed throughout the state to help with interoperability. The only p...

THUMPER with training tracks

About 1130 local on 364.2, a Huntress Intercept freq, heard THUMPER calling out intercepts, presumably training. Female operator calling the tracks. Didn't hear any other frequencies active, but was busy and didn't have both ears on the radios. Not sure if I've heard THUMPER before. As an aside ther...
