Re: New England Frequency Database Updated

Did this new import include FCC allocated "MC" marine frequencies/licenses? I believe I asked this same question 1 year ago on the last update, and at that time you didn't include marine freqs.?. just wondering.

thanks Chris for the update! I just added it to my scanner to see if I hear it. I'm Central MA, too far east, but I will try.

Re: DCR brush fire/fire lookout tower: '20 Radio Traffic

update: Fire lookout towers more active. Confirmed usual like last year, DCR VHF usage. Second time, DCR fire wardens are using 800MHz TRS for comms to one another & MEMA dispatch. Some fire towers are giving end-of-day fire reports on the 800 now. On the weekends when State fire wardens typically a...

Re: MSP Zone 8 New Talkgroup 57680 (encrypted)

ANSWER: According to the "Eastern MA" posting, this is (radio) "TECH - encrypted". The Eastern MA reported P25 talkgroup 3605, which is 57680 analog. It must be statewide, because if it's coming out on Cambridge 700MHz and I'm hearing it here on analog Zone 8 (57680) in central MA.

Re: West Springfield FD to UHF?

this is a STA license, not a permanent one. The 2 STA letters seem to suggest the testing is for the police dept. This STA license references PD call sign WRDU533 (issued 7/23/19). The STA testing freq is 453.625 Rptrs. So I'm guessing they are testing it before they plan to add it permanently add i...

Re: MSP Zone 8 New Talkgroup 39056 "MEMA wide"

I not only hear this talkgroup every day like clockwork, I also hear radio ID "402" every day, and that person keeps driving to several "warehouses" throughout the state. Could this be related to medical warehouse transport, and/or army national guard (maybe)? They use radio language like "off at th...

Re: DCR brush fire/fire lookout tower: '20 Radio Traffic

update: The pattern seems to be 95% VHF usage only on the weekends. Weekend fire reports are on VHF DCR Ch1. Starting this Monday 3/23 the fire wardens were back on 800MHz again on a daily basis checking & end-of-day fire reports via 800 (when it used to be VHF DCR Ch1 (151.205 simplex PL 71.9). Her...

MSP Zone 8 New Talkgroup 39056 "MEMA wide"

Heard for the 1st time today, as I've been searching every talkgroup for 2 weeks straight now.

800 analog=39056 / CoMIRS=2441
"MEMA 402" to "State Control" on "MEMA wide". Transmission was only on this, 39056 & no other MEMA talkgroup (i.e. multicasting).

Re: Worcester & CoMIRS pages (t/g confirmations)

thought of a new idea. How about this: Put the Worc talkgroups on the Worc page. Add a new heading on Worc page, similar "There are additional users from the CoMIRS system that have access to Worc, see the CoMIRS page for the remaining talk groups." Furthermore, the COMIRS page should have "all stat...

Worcester & CoMIRS pages (t/g confirmations)

I cut & pasted my entire list from the other thread so someone can data enter Everything Below into the WIKI pages. My thoughts, is it's beneficial to add the same data to both, separate pages (because the Worc talkgroups are part of CoMIRS) & (stuff from CoMIRS {non-Worc} comes out the Worc system}...

DCR brush fire/fire lookout tower: '20 Radio Traffic

I usually don't scan the 800MHz TRS analog system on a daily basis, hardly at all, but I have a dedicated two-way VHF radio that scans DCR & MEMA full time, 24/7/365. While on my 800MHz TRS analog (zone 8) scanning spree, I now hear DCR fire wardens on the 800MHz system now. DCR has had talkgroups h...

Re: Idea - wiki page with common frequency errors

my opinion: I use the old scanner pocket guide, but moreso I research their FCC license to get the actual frequency first. Then I add it into my scanner, listen to capture the CTCSS/DCS/P25 NAC/Color Code/RAN, then use scan-ne or RadioReference to compare my (captured tone) is in fact the user I'm r...

Re: MSP Project 25 page (correct errors)

FCC database. Here is my thoughts : I spent several hours printing out each & every FCC license comparing it to the WIKI, and the WIKI was missing a bunch of FCC licensed freqs at various certain sites. So the wiki should have the FCC licensed listing of freqs (which is the purpose of that page). In...

Chris, you are true & correct on the portable coverage. Apparently what is happening, 800MHz mobiles are OK, but they are finding out 800MHz portable are not, so they are using VHF hand-held portables when out of the cruisers. So cruisers=800 and handhelds =VHF. and funny story.. the VHF system work...
