MSP analog, P25

Hello all- Perhaps someone can help shed some light on a problem I've had for years. I live in Monson, and we have a MSP analog site here in town (Zone 14). The problem is that this site doesn't repeat all talk groups of both Troop B or Troop C. I only hear selected traffic on B-Ptrl-1, C-Ptrl 1. I ...

WQXJ519 is the license, Freq, 153.005 (R) DPL 047 There are also a couple other frequencies listed, another repeater 153.170 (R) but so far I have only verified the firs...

157.450 is used for paging.. 154.680 is an operations channel, however it might have remote base locations, as sometimes I hear a CW ID on it. Some towns, I believe East Brookfield or Brookfield, use a different frequency and not 154.9125, but most do. Also, some towns like Wales, Brimfield, and I b...

Southbridge Fire

A reliable source told me that Southbridge Fire changed from using their repeater on fireground, to using it as dispatch, and fireground is now simplex. Can anyone confirm this?

However, there was some tower work done this summer, some things got damaged, and we're waiting for antennas to be replaced. There are a couple o...

If you're completely new to scanning, buy something simple. If you don't care much about MA & CT State Police or E.Longmeadow, don't waste your money on a digital-capable scanner. A basic scanner without spending a ton of money will cover most towns and cities around here, and most won't be going di...

I noticed that W. Brookfield operations are now coming over the repeater on Steerage Rock in Brimfield (154.9125 PL 141.3) It also seems N. Brookfield has access to this channel, as i heard them talking during an incident today for W. Brookfield. I did notice some activity on 153.785 (W. Brookfield ...

I have a scantenna, and I've been happy with the results. It's on a mast off the chimney and not in the attic. It's a bit directional, but compared to cheaper discones that cost the same and provide junk reception, the scantenna for the price works very well. On the "Good coax", I do agree. If you'r...

I had some activity this morning, between 7a and 9a. PL is 107.2
Unfortunately I didn't write down the freq!

I also had some activity the other day as well- Monday I believe, same time. Just keying up from time to time- no voice.

I happened to catch some activity this morning; C-8 dispatched West Brookfield to a medical call. Operations may also take place on this frequency since dispatch gave updates regarding the call; however i could not hear any other units.

154.680 is also licensed to the same sites as 154.9125. Has anyone ever heard activity on this freq? Its licensed as a fixed base transmitter, not a repeater, so perhaps it is - or will be- used for paging?

New to SWL

Hello all; I am quite new to SWL. I own a Yaesu VX-7R for my ham ops, and while on vacation I tried some SWL. I really enjoy the variety of things that can be heard, and I only heard maybe 6 or 7 stations. I recently bought a Grundig YB 300 and a house. I'd like to put up an outdoor antenna, but my ...
