Re: MSP Use of Low Band VHF?

One of the reasons Mike and I were talking about the "Small Town" Patrols is no confirmations have ever been submitted https://scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php?title=MA_State_Police_Low-Band https://scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php?title=C-8_Area_Dispatch_Towns There is a confirmation here https://scan-ne.net/...

Providence recreation uses UTAC42 on a regular basis. I often hear young sounding temporary summer employees working at recreation programs during the summer.

Re: pruning proposal for portland wiki page

I spent a couple days monitoring this system. here are my notes: The FD ops channels in the wiki are shared between Portland and South Portland. Portland seems to get assigned channels 2-6, and south portland 7-9 Outside of the normal PD/FD channels, here is some of what I confirmed: 1105 This chann...

Georgetown DPW

While running an unrelated search, I stumbled across Georgetown DPW on 159.9375 D351. It's licensed to the electric light department (that's how they get away with using a business frequency), but I heard general DPW and snow removal traffic. I added it to the wiki.

Re: Douglas Fire VHF

I've been listening to these channels for a couple days. It seems that when talking to a police unit, the dispatcher only comes out the police channel. When talking to a fire unit, about 90% of the time I can hear the dispatcher on both the Sutton police and Sutton fire channels. I only heard DPW tr...

Been Listening today and I'm getting 100% school bus related comms with a very strong repeater signal on 159.9600 with DPL 351 Units include "East Bridgewater Base", "West Bridgewater Base" and "Easton Base" with mentions of schools and streets in those towns. I'm getting it very strong here in Sou...

Re: Article about Fire Communications breakdowns

With their brand new console, isn't there are red switch that is encrpyt off/on???????? I'm not familiar with how Lawrence's radios are programmed, but generally speaking the switch is on the transmitting radio. So the dispatcher can switch themselves between clear and encrypted, but each field uni...

Re: Worcester P25 800MHz Trunked (unknown talk groups need identifying)

PD F4 (used to be traffic enforcement on the old EDACS system) On the old system, every division had their own channel 4. So there was an operations-4, a traffic-4, etc. I have not listened to or tried to track down their encrypted channels, so I have no idea if the new system is set up the same way.

Can you confirm that isn't a typo? That TG is already in the wiki as DCR-FIRE 1. (691 digital *16=11056 analog)

Has anyone been able to monitor the DRED North (DNCR) simulcast system? I have programmed it into a PSR-500 and also a Motorola XTS2500. I used 151.295 and a NAC of 850. Once in a great while I will hear a very short transmission (as a ranger signs on the air) otherwise the radios will receive a si...

Northbridge Fire used to dispatch on the District 7 county band 33.620 PL 131.8. Since Northbridge Police is now doing fire dispatch, the PD uses a RF UHF link frequency of 453.6875 PL 77.0 that is used to transmit/receive to the 33.620 base station on the Hill Street water tank. The 453.6875 patch...

Re: Mobile Antenna

The Comtelco A11331 antenna has a very thick metal rod and a cheap plastic base. They break very easily. The scanner master web site doesn't say what model the comtelco antenna is, but it looks like the A11331. I like the Larsen NMO150/450/758.

Re: Northbridge Fire VHF

Has anyone else been monitoring this? 33.68 has good range, and I can occasionally hear both sides of the conversation on that freqency, so some of the mobile and portable radios must be talking on VHF and getting repeated back over the low band. When dispatch talks, they go over both 33.68 and 154....
