New Burlington, MA school radio system

The Burlington (MA) Daily Times Chronicle recently reported that several school capital budget projects scheduled for the summer were nearing completion, including one for a new school radio system. The project was described earlier this year at: http://homenewshere.com/daily_times_chronicle/news/bu...

Re: VT statewide NXDN48 system

Awesome, Chris. Thanks for that tidbit. I just assumed that it meant it would be north of 470 MHz. Not sure when I will get back up there but I'm anxious to flesh out some of the missing pieces. Bruce I would guess that the 803 one may be a 6.25KHz channel. That company is licensed on several at dif...

Vermont business frequencies

For anybody interested in Vermont business frequencies, I've started to document an NXDN48 system that apparently covers all of VT, plus Clinton County (Plattsburgh area) in NY, and a piece of Western New York. See my recent post in the Data Submission section for details. My original intent was to ...

VT statewide NXDN48 system

I was up in Franklin County, VT earlier this week and got in enough radio time to track down the following statewide NXDN48 system. I didn't have enough time, unfortunately, to track down TGs after I mapped out the channels/frequencies. Just enough to discover that the vast majority of the traffic w...

Uniden Custom Search issue, fix, and Thank You

I'm spending some time at home post-op, and exploring some BCD436HP features that I haven't used much until now. In trying to track down a local bus service, I set up some Custom Search ranges throughout 460, 470, and 480 MHz. 460 worked as expected. 470 & 480 were completely dead, even though I cou...

Bill -- I'm up in the Saint Albans area for a couple of days and have one scanner going with nothing but these freqs. So far I have only heard activity on 460.225/203.5. Will have it going on the trip back south. One outlier though: a couple of times I have picked up what sounds like DOT traffic on ...

For http://scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php?title=Middlesex_County_College_And_Hospital_Operations There have been a number of changes to the Lahey Clinic system in Burlington, MA. The first two are confirmed. The second two are based on what has NOT been heard, and still require more confirmation: CONFIR...

There are a handful of other TGIDs that appear to be active, but with low traffic and some encryption, it's going to take a while to figure them out.

Also -- still no adjacent sites showing up.

And to all of you, who have been so helpful over the years. Santa (Mrs. Santa, actually) unexpectedly got me a BCD436HP, which I have been putting off for years. The second high-band VHF region for wireless microphones, 174-216MHz, is designated for broadcast and commercial film/video production. Primary users of this band are television channels 7-13. High quality audio is possible, transmission losses are minimal, and acceptable antenna sizes are possible...

I'm sitting in my car right now in Concord -- two close call hits so far. Most interesting: 216.42 mhz (unless it's an image). No tone -- constant broadcast carrying director, actor dialog, and background conversations. Somebody was complaining about Hanscom's traffic messing up their sound. Also 45...

Burlington, MA freq

After having 482.875 (licensed to Burlington, MA -- WPLX350) in my scanner for four years, I've finally noted some activity on it.

Repeater; NAC:272 (BPD)

Let's just call it "secondary; occasional use" and leave it at that.

Just happening: A Gulfstream aborted take-off and has slid off end of runway. Initial reports indicate no injury and no significant aircraft damage.

Well, that would explain what I heard on the commute in this morning around 8 AM: lots of SP units and some ambulances and buses staging around the airport. Sorry I missed that activity. Not sure what to make out of that -- the traffic I've heard on those frequencies while commuting has been recent (last several months) and was pretty clearly delineated.
