Re: Plymouth PD P25

Let us know if that worked for you Joe. As to signal, I'm not sure it's that as much as it is interference from other strong signals. The frequency choice is unusual to be certain. For one of my SDR's (not a $7 dongle lol) I wound up with best results using a non-resonant yagi that points west south...

Re: Plymouth PD P25

Okay, I would not expect any issues with that at all, NAC programmed or not. I'm not sure how you programmed it in but try this and see if it makes a difference. 1. While scanning, press the white CHANNEL button. 2. Punch in 451.275 but DO NOT hit the enter key, press CHANNEL again. 3. Let it sit an...

Re: Plymouth PD P25

Why he is using a Regency Monitoradio 8 like most of us. What are you using Mr. Fancy pants Scanner Master kid? You probably get all the crystals you want! I'm not at liberty to say which crystals I get. Company policy. I just thought it amusing that what I AM using, all $2300 worth of it, won't un...

Re: Plymouth PD P25

It's the 8600's inability to deal with LSM/CQPSK apparently. Using the 12 kHz IF out with SDR# and DSD interface I get decodes, although DSD+ warns me that it is a PSK signal and that I should use FMPA/FMPP/FMP24 link and correct channel bandwidth to decode. That message is present during each trans...

Re: Plymouth PD P25

A quick spin around the interwebs indicates that the 8600 suffers the same LSM issues that scanners other than the SDS models do, but this info seems exclusively about using the 8600 to monitor frequencies that are part of a trunked system. Apparently using LSM and CQPSK for conventional P25 may not...

Re: Plymouth PD P25

Interesting! I didn't realize that, and it could be the issue. I'll have to run it using its 12 kHz IF out to SDR# and the DSD plug-in and see if I can hear it that way. I'll also try to check the other switchovers but I have a reception issue in that direction due to the mid-cape ridge I'm stuck be...

Re: Plymouth PD P25

On the SDS models different filter settings may improve reception. I just remain completely surprised about the 8600 not working with it from home.

Re: Plymouth PD P25

From another location today, I am receiving them quite well. This makes me wonder about the nearby Eversource signals I have to deal with. 451.025 is almost constant with position data of vehicles as I recall, and when 451.125 transmits it is an extremely strong and somewhat "dirty" lookin...

Re: Plymouth PD P25

It's not a signal strength issue to be certain. I tuned in 100 kHz steps to either side of 451.275 and started getting a little decode at 451.274 on the 8600. With the 8600 it is surely not an issue of adjacent channel interference as this receiver has incredible performance in that regard.

Re: Plymouth PD P25

My $2300 Icom IC-R8600 is not receiving P25 from this system. However, I have a signal that is more than adequate for decoding. My center tuning is spot-on. Even in analog mode I'm not hearing digital noise. I am however seeing the 8600's pop-up window display the NAC, talkgroup (1), and radio ID's....

Re: Plymouth PD P25

Watching 451.275 with my IC-R8600. I've seen a few key-ups this morning but no voice. As confirmed already NAC showing as 73B. It is interesting that it is right next door to some pretty strong Eversource DMR signals.

Actually, likely a wise choice on their part. Otherwise, and as it was quite evident, "anyone" could post "anything". It minimizes the fraud factor greatly. As to here, it was a nice idea but saw minimal usage, and as Mike stated a lot of links to sales at other sites such as RR ...

Another viable option for a dedicated setup, although a little more involved is the P25RX II from this website: https://bluetailtechnologies.com/ And yet another, if you want to dedicate a PC to it, is OP25 software, which is absolutely superb, but definitely has a learning curve in both setup and o...

Re: Uniden programming cables for Windows 11

This should help for the 436. It has been a long time since I've set up the older scanners.

The entire online manual for using Sentinel with the 436 can be found at: http://new.marksscanners.com/536/X36%20 ... inel.shtml

Re: Uniden programming cables for Windows 11

What he said.

Nothing to do with the cables; everything to do with the drivers. If it wasn't a fresh install of Windows 11 I would as Gary said uninstall/reinstall Sentinel.

Re: ICE 900 trunk conversion to DMR Tier III

Maybe that's what it is. We or RR don't have any other info on 937.750 and there hasn't been a single transmission. Watching it with DSD+. Signal level for me is about right for Kingston. Interesting.

Re: File request: Cape & Islands for SDS 100

Out of the box the global filter is defaulted to "Normal" (which IMHO is anything but...) . I wish filtering could be taken down to the individual channel level but I suppose that will never happen. I'd think maybe a firmware update could do it, but the way it's set up now for systems is i...

Re: File request: Cape & Islands for SDS 100

If Mike's doesn't work out for you I can provide one as well. I'll reiterate here that I've found shutting off the global filter in the SDS models seems (in my case anyway) to improve analog reception. As with these filters in general, results widely vary, but I have taken my SDS100 mobile on numero...
