Re: Scan New England Talkgroup on TGIF Network
Just a reminder to all interested hams that the first SNE Net is coming up on Wednesday 12/6 at 8PM ET. I have seen some activity on there which is great. Please check in if you can and don't hesitate to use the TG for chit chat at any time. Hopefully we can have some fun with this going forward.

Anyone else with any updates on this? I see no changes on the cape. Same deal as I outlined earlier on the Kingston site.

Re: Scan New England Talkgroup on TGIF Network
Nice! They are super-fast to be certain. I checked in to the Scanner Junkies net on TGIF last Thursday evening. (TG 1033 weekly at 8PM ET). I made an announcement there that we are going to try to run a net on 26480 with next Wednesday being the start date. I did notice on the control panel of the T...

Re: Pro Voice on Cape
There will never be a new ProVoice system, period. And as mentioned definitely none on Cape Cod.
Gary, all I know of for ProVoice in TX was San Antonio but they moved to a P25 Phase II system.

Re: Scan New England Talkgroup on TGIF Network
The Openspot 4 Pro, especially if you are going to cross mode, as the encode/decode is done by hardware instead of software. I've had good reports cross moding from YSF to DMR. It also is very easy to set up and manipulate.

Re: Scan New England Talkgroup on TGIF Network
I would like to shoot for Wednesday December 6 at 8 PM ET for a net, if anyone is interested in doing so. Also, each Thursday at 8 PM there is a net on TGIF TG 1033, which is "The Scanner/SWL Junkies" talkgroup. I'm going to try to check into that net on 11/30 and will make a notification ...

Re: To Regionalize The Cape
Happy Thanksgiving All, It's good to see everyone's comments and @jbella, now I know you have actual hands on experience with this stuff. I don't believe I was aware of that prior to today, although it's entirely possible I could have forgotten as well or not drawn that conclusion from prior posts. ...

Re: Looks like new UHF FD freq.
Dispatch center 'managers' are only interested in compliance, not job performance and not the results out in the street. I'm not sure where you're coming from with this gem. Of the almost 34 years I dispatched, 26 of them were spent as the department's communications supervisor. Your statement, in ...

Re: Looks like new UHF FD freq.
Curious as to why you don't think PD communications should ever be regionalized? I may be a bit biased in my opinion on this, given my profession for almost 34 years. Here on Cape Cod, dispatchers wear many hats. Not only are they the front lines and the triage for their departments, they do a lot ...

Might I suggest adding this to the front page of the website at all for those that may start at it before coming into the forums. This doesn't surprise me in the least, it is a sign of the times.

Re: Looks like new UHF FD freq.
They have not or I'm completely missing something. Nor should PD communications ever be regionalized. Fire and EMS benefit from it. Combining police dispatch down here would not.

Re: Cape Cod Mall & Community College
Cape Cod Mall Security disappeared from their DMR setup on 462.450 quite some time ago. They are likely using a non-standard type of system for their comms now, read: we can't hear it. As to CCCC, I used to hear occasional traffic on their analog 800 MHz frequency but haven't heard a peep on the all...

Re: Scan New England Talkgroup on TGIF Network
Saw an N1DQQ check into the TG this morning but missed him by a few minutes. I have a little Samsung USB monitor that I added onto one of my PC's, and I moved a browser window onto it that constantly shows activity for just the 26480 talkgroup, so even if I'm not monitoring and see something pop up ...

Re: Scan New England Talkgroup on TGIF Network
Thanks for the responses thus far; hopefully they will continue. I'll be leaving the TG on when things are idle here and will answer anyone's call if/when I can. I can see on my dashboard when people check in anyway so if I don't answer I'll respond here. It's a relatively easy process once you get ...

Basically it means that unless you have a computer that is running Linux operating system, you can't provide a feed.

Ah okay, I get it now, you didn't have a DMR ID. Move along, nothing to see here, kids. Well hopefully we'll get some interest in this. Rick/N1RCW and I tested it last night and it's working fine.

Scan New England Talkgroup on TGIF Network
Hello all, I've been approved for a Scan New England talkgroup on the TGIF DMR Network. The TG is 26480. Hopefully anyone on here that has a hotspot and can access the TGIF network will join in. Please respond here if interested. Thought it might be fun to set up a net, whether it be monthly, bi-wee...

Re: Unfiltered ADS-B & the ADS-B Exchange sale
Regardless of who is running this, I'm not sure (or I'm entirely missing) why there is not a PC option for uploading/sharing data. I would do so if so. I run dump 1090 on an always on PC that serves other things, and watch the data locally using Virtual Radar Server, a simple and effective setup. I ...

154.8225 Now - Odd P25 Traffic
A while back, when Dukes County (Marthas Vineyard) switched to P25, 154.8225 was found to be one of the frequencies in use there, with a NAC of D10. Tonight, "something" is apparently getting into the input of the repeater. I am hearing traffic pertinent to the Henry Hudson Parkway, and EM...
