Berkshire EOC on CoMIRS

Just heard a series of radio tests on CoMIRS TG 2289 (LOCPS-10) referring to "Berkshire EOC".

As someone stationed in a Franklin county EOC, it will be nice to hear how things are going in neighboring areas.

Re: Franklin County FRCOG (transition to CoMIRS)

Going back through my recent recordings of "unknown" talkgroups and found a series (3/17 @ 0859) of radio tests from Erving C1 to Shelburne Control on TG 2293. All calls had FROM ID's so it was entirely P25, no UHF patch. Haven't seen any traffic on the TG since so no idea if it was a proof of conce...

CoMIRS - FRCOG UHF Patch

Another patch from FRCOG UHF to CoMIRS confirmed today, doesn't get any easier than when Shelburne control asks them to switch to a tower for a quality check!

TG 2317 is an analog patch from 460.5500 / Charlemont Tower

Re: Franklin Cnty Police (future transition to 800MHz P25 digital)

A user on radioreference noticed some new Commonwealth licenses including one that overlays a few of the existing FRCOG site towers: https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/ ... gn=WQLV701

I'll keep an ear open for any of listed Mt Toby frequencies.

Re: MSP P25 TG Addition

The only bright side to all the brush fire responses is finding even more local tower patches:

TG 2314 is a patch from FRCOG Colrain tower analog UHF @ 453.4250

Verified today at 1406 when Colrain Utility requested Colrain tower on FD simulcast and the conversation then moved to TG 2314.

MSP P25 TG Addition

TG 2316 is a patch from FRCOG Erving tower analog UHF @ 453.2625 Confirmed this weekend and today with multiple brush fire incidents switching to Erving tower and conversations going from TG 2290 (FRCOG Fire Simulcast) to TG 2316. Unable to double check with analog reception since I am not in range ...

Re: What is patched to SOPS-1 today?

SOPS-1 and SOPS-2 were both being used at UMass Amherst for the annual Blarney Blowout. SOPS-2 was definitely Troop B members, SOPS-1 may have been the mishmash of local agencies. There was both a CP and EOC being used for dispatch. Fairly uneventful and agreed on the odd audio quality. Radio ID's w...

Re: Franklin Cnty Police (future transition to 800MHz P25 digital)

I heard the changeover (P25 Toby 2 -> Montague UHF 1) earlier today and unfortunately it doesn't appear to be patched into CoMIRS at this time. Then again who knows what next weeks brings!

Re: Franklin Cnty Police (future transition to 800MHz P25 digital)

Thanks for the info Kelton, explains the normal UHF outage. Just caught some traffic on TG 2304 that aligned with "Mt Toby 2" from https://www.scan-ne.net/wiki/index.php? ... epartments

Add to the Franklin County list:
2304 Mt Toby 2 patch w/ 460.6

Re: Franklin Cnty Police (future transition to 800MHz P25 digital)

After a few more transmissions this morning I can verify that TG 2304 is Montague/Turners Falls PD. The odd thing is I can't pick up their UHF from downtown Greenfield and at least one other user on radioreference notes they're getting nothing or garble the last day or two. They're not piloting CoMI...

Re: Franklin Cnty Police (future transition to 800MHz P25 digital)

I'll check for a UHF<->CoMIRS match when I'm back in Greenfield this week. I only get the faintest hint of GPD/GPD UHF from Sunderland so Turners UHF would likely be the same. Last time I spoke with the GFD chief it did sound like the FRCOG -> CoMIRS timeline has been pushed back without any concret...

Re: Franklin Cnty Police (future transition to 800MHz P25 digital)

Seeing a new TG 2304 on site 024 (WMass North) as of last night. Sporadic traffic but definitely police. Based on the fact that it has a dedicated dispatch (not Shelburne control) and the couple street addresses transmitted it's possibly Turners Falls. Unsure if it's permanent or more capacity testi...
