Re: Passport

I have an RTL SDR dongle which I use for listening to RISCON...works GREAT using SDR Trunk. But where can I find the Nat. Grid freqs and would I simply just program them manually as conventional freqs in SDR Trunk?

Re: SDS 200 Hum Fix

Nice job....so what needs to be done is the area around screw hole needs to be scraped so bottom of screw head makes contact? My SDS200 has a very low hum problem for many months but it is VERY hard to hear unless room is dead quiet at night. I ended up wedging a small piece of folded copper on top ...

Re: Introducing a newer version of our RISCON page

Under the City of Providence are some listings called "UASI". Nothing came up on a search. What is that? Also why are there so many DPW talk groups?

Re: Unknown transmission on 44.200

Is this REACT for the 21st Century? Hahaha I read through most of their website. I still dont get it. Are they an "official" group"? Unlicensed? I saw the part in the video where the guy was talking about using DMR.....a lot of conflicting info and the website seems to be promoting some huge, fanta...

Re: Unknown transmission on 44.200

What amazed me was the time and effort in one of the videos to install antennas and what looks to be a repeater box up in a tree...... I thought putting up a single antenna on the side of my house was a pain but he states it took him about six days to install that system I watched the video too and...

I was going to suggest and image, but then recall the OP is running SDR, and could be off on the Frequency.
103.5 is/was a common tone for some of the utilities in low Band, but 44.2000 was never one of them.
Radio is BCD996P2, not an SDR.

Unknown transmission on 44.200

I have searched and can't find any information about what this freq might be used for. From about 4:45pm today (Nov 27) I heard very brief transmissions on 44.200. Each transmission was full scale and a male voice said "F1 check 1,2,3,4,5, 4,3,2,1" Then another voice said "Check 1, 2" I have so far ...

I guess I am just exploring other things to listen to. We are kinda limited as far as being able to hear past Bristol county Mass. At least where I live.

Can you hear the NWS on 162.55 from blue hill?
I can hear a wx station on 162.475 reasonably well with white noise. I can hear 162.55 but it is much more static/white noise but I can hear the voice. Not sure if I am hearing Blue Hill or a station in CT.

Re: CoMIRS system

I have a yagi for 800mhz so I may aim it north towards Worcester area and see if I can hear control channel. But there are a lot of hills in the way and the distance is far. More than likely the system is supposed to eventually grow so maybe sometime Bristol County will switch.

CoMIRS system

I was curious if I might be able to receive some of the CoMIRS frequencies where I live. I am in Cranston RI and I regularly listen to the MSP analog trunk system. Browsing thru here I found the CoMIRS page but not sure which site I would need for frequencies. I see the system is P25 with NAC "Dxx" ...

I was searching the 453 mhz band and this freq 453.7125 with tone of 156.7 showed up full scale. It's short for RAN or Radio Access Number. It's like a PL tone in analog or a NAC in P25, it's a type of coded squelch signal used on NXDN systems.

The link Bill posted goes to the list of types used in our wiki's tone section.
OK thank you....I didnt know what "RAN" stood for.

I did hear them again and one guy was telling another about a couch on top of a TV and it almost started to sound like a recycle/trash truck or something. Now I will have this TG on full time listening.

MSP Talk group "31312"?

Has anybody else run across this talk group? I scan Mass State PD with the "search" option for TG's and just saw this one come up on screen. I looked up this TG number and it doesnt come up. The transmission was too brief to get more information but I did save it in case I hear it again.

Amtrak dispatcher location?

Just curious about where the transmissions are coming from on 160.920. I know there is a train yard off route 95 in Providence.
