I suspect that is what the OP is referring to, however. None of the databases refer to the analog system as CoMIRS, despite the fact it's also CoMIRS.ScanBoston wrote: ↑04 Oct 2023 10:10 I think what is going on here is some folks thinks COMIRS is just the P25 sites and not the Analog.

I think you're in a spot with no coverage. The system is really only covering the metro Boston area and Western Mass.

Re: Tone vs. Audio Option
Yes. In the Wiki "N" is short for NAC. "C" is Color Code on DMR listings (C12 for example is Color Code 12). "R" is for RAN on NXDN listings (R10 for example is RAN 10) "D" is for Digital PL or DPL. The NAC does are always in HEX. Color Codes and RAN are alway...

Whether people know if South Boston is part of the city or not is irrelevant to this discussion, please move on.

Re: Quincy Fire Ch. 1
For some reason I get a lot of digital noise on 483.5375, especially when I'm in Quincy or Weymouth. It happens on the SDS200 in my truck. I've checked the settings and they are all correct. PL, audio mode, modulation are as they should be. I have it set up on my SDR computer in DSD+, but don't get...

I can't due to prior commitments.
I'd really like to go too. I enjoyed it last year.

Unknown Retail Frequency heard on Close Call: 467.875 DPL of 723 That would be GUESS! , the clothing store. If you ever wonder about a mystery store frequency, a good rule of thumb is to check our common store frequency chart. https://www.snewiki.com/wiki/index.php/Common_Standard_Department_Store_...

So the thing with P25 is if the reception is poor, it'll sound encrypted and the scanner may even indicate that it's encrypted. How's your reception been so far prior to today?

Re: Plymouth PD P25
I listened to PlymouthPD last night. Thank you for all your assistance. I have a BCD536. In the upper right side of the screen, instead of p25 it is now indicating CAP. What does that mean? It means you are picking up the Capacity Plus system as well on the frequency. If you have the NAC programmed...

Surprisingly the x36 Uniden scanners do fairly well with LSM. Not like the SDS, but they do handle it good. Better than the 996P2s that some on RR claim are God's gift to scanning.

Re: Plymouth PD P25
I find that with the 436HP, unless you're right up on the transmitter, it can handle the 25 KHz spacing without any issues. I fully suspect based on my knowledge of my receive conditions at my house and other reports, that the signal is definitely subpar to the old one. Now again the system is also ...
