The Yaesu FRG-7 (usually around $250 used) is one of my favorites. That was one of my first SW radios and I'd like to pick up another one. It is all analog so you don't get any of the annoying microprocessor hash with a digital unit. Great sound comes out of its speaker, too.

Mine came yesterday and it is already dog-eared. Looks like a nice reference.

Any recommendations on a WiFi receiver? I usually use a laptop to stream stations but once in a while I like to disconnect the umbilical cord.

I have multiple receivers:

Kaito KA1102 portable
Sony ICF-2010 portable
Yaesu FRG-100
Kenwood TS-450 (transceiver)

My main antenna is a 125 ft. end fed longwire about 40 feet in the air. It is usually connected to the Kenwood. The portables are used with their stock antennas.

I'm not having the issue here on a regular basis, but I have indeed noticed that it occurs. I think what happens in my case is that I enter the message board, and then leave without viewing anything. Just a heads up... Hearing lots of DX WX stations at the moment. 162.500 is booming in from the NY/PA area. Also, 162.550 (Central MA) and 162.475 (Hartford) were down for a while and you could hear multiple weak DX stations as well.
