Re: Incident Notification Forum

Should this come back in one form or another, would it be better to keep the information simple, to just include location, type of incident, and maybe updates as needed? Is it worthwhile to include multiple frequency/channel information? For instance, if I get a notification via Twitter or however i...

I listened to the other videos too and U guys are really good! Yes your son is very good on bass. Do you plan to do more videos or maybe record some music?
We are all friends who went to school together and get together once in a while to play/record a song or two. It's all just for fun.

Re: Any musicians on here?

I play drums. Have played since 5th grade. If you want, go to YouTube and check out my channel, its markmainchannel and there are several videos of me jamming with my sons and old friends from back in the day.

Re: Fire District 1

Talkgroup 38000 is County Fire OPS-3, which is often patched to surrounding Plymouth County channels when Mutual Aid is involved. I think Chuck is mixing up OPS-3 with Barnstable County Control?

The 996P2 will offer you everything the 996XT did but also can receive DMR transmissions with the software upgrade. My $.02? Get a 996P2.

Re: Eversource

According to Radioreference database this shows as Eversource Cape Cod;

451.12500 BM CC 1
TG 4
SL 2

Does that help? If you are using a SDS scanner it should be in there.

My guess is that whatever fixes were made recently did not solve the issue. Keep both the conventional and trunk system talk group programmed, that way you won't miss anything.

May just be your location. That's a bit of distance from South Plymouth to hear Scituate with a stock antenna.

What are the lightning strike issues you have read? Just curious. I know a lot of people use Discones, but I wonder about the lightning strike issue that I've read about. Any other thoughts? I'm not looking to spend hundreds of dollars, but would like something with reasonable performance. Thanks, G...

So I ordered the one from Amazon but triple checked my stash of various cables in the toolbox. I swear I checked them all but I found one that looked like it might work. Lo and behold, it did! Well, I now will have an extra, and the Amazon one was only $11, so a win win! Thanks everyone for your hel...

Gary,

Will this work for programming my 436HP? Just want to verify before buying. That price is very cheap. Most cables are in the $22-$28 range.

USB-1 Programming Cable

Need some help, I recently tried to purchase the USB-1 programming cable that works with my BCD436HP and on two occasions I got the wrong cable. One was via eBay and the other from Ham Radio Outlet. These were described as programming cables. Both times I was sent a cable that is used for GPS and NO...

Re: Ham Radio on 143.4000 PL 110.9

It "was" used for Military Police I believe at Joint Base Cape Cod, but it may have been abandoned by the base. I monitor it quite a lot and rarely if ever do I hear comms from there, and I'm about 2 miles away.
