Re: 461.425

I'm not sure at all. I was (of course) away from the computer when it popped up and by the time I saw it there were several other hits which might have changed the color code back. I won't get back to this for a week, so I won't have a timely update. Are you sure the TG 50 is on the same color code?

Re: 461.425

Thanks! I also see a TG 50 now. Plus a lot of Private Call, mostly in Spanish. I'll update the Wiki.

DMR with a Color Code of 7. Activity seems to be on Slot 2. Two talk groups 10 and 11. TG 10 might be security. Today there has been a lot of Private Call activity. Signal is just a bit too weak for me to figure out who it is, but it sounds like either a hotel or maybe apartment complex. Two potenti...

Re: Boston Med Flight

I hardly ever hear TG 22 these days, but do hear TG 392 on a regular basis. I think that's dispatch for the ground units. According to their website, 52% of their transports are via ground unit. I hear Medflight on a regular basis here in Mashpee. They do check-ins each morning and other Comms on TG...

Re: 462.100

Doing some random listening this morning and came across this again. Any thoughts on how to add this to the Taxi Cab Wiki Page? My thought is that 16777215 is the dispatch side of Yellow Cab. The RID for that is always 5000. When units talk back in on the Private Call part, all of the units are 50xx...

Re: Wynn / Encore casino, Everett

Now in talks to sell the hotel/casino to MGM. Which may or may not delay the opening.

I wonder if security operations will be encrypted? MGM doesn't seem to use it at the Springfield casino.

Re: SDS200 Observations

Not unless you want to buy several expensive and not that easy to program radios. I suppose if you were wealthy enough you could buy an APX 8000 multi band. For analog and P25 Phase 1 I'm having good results with my WS 1065. It has the intermod problem on 800 that these scanners have had since the P...

Re: SDS200 Observations

The thing is, it's wedged in and working great. I don't want to change dislodging it or having it not work as well. Completely understandable. Also it is an excellent DMR performer, the best sounding DMR scanner I have ever heard, so there is that too. I'm still sorting through the ICE system tryin...

Re: SDS200 Observations

I don't have a severe noise problem, but have noticed the hum when I'm in my truck with the engine off. When driving, the background noise covers the noise. However, I have noticed that when I have the SDS200 running, the FM broadcast signal is degraded on my JVC aftermarket radio. So, I wonder if b...

Re: SDS200 Observations

Continuing the experimentation, I've changed Global to "Normal" filtering. Overall, that seems to work very well. I'm still fooling around with the ICE system. I had it set to "Invert" and it didn't seem to work all that well. I changed some of the site settings to "Wide Normal" and have seen some i...

Re: Braintree Radios _ Sluething Opportunity?

Ahhh, the days of copper. Calling Telco, giving them circuit numbers, techs chasing lines from CO to CO. Four wire radio control lines, two wire control lines, "ring down" lines to hospitals and ambulance stations. At one time we had about 100 different circuits including dispatch radios, ring downs...

Re: SDS200 Observations

AM aircraft is the only disappointment I've found so far with the SDS200. The 436Hp and 536HP (before it died) with the latest firmware are much better on AM aircraft. I will try wide normal and see what happens. I live near JBCC and notice the difference on the AM band. Thank you for the input.

Re: SDS200 Observations

I think Caleb is wrong. With "Wide Normal" I get very good reception on analog UHF and VHF. Not to mention on the MSP Smartnet analog trunk.
What we really need, or maybe RR needs is a "SDS Filter Settings" forum so people can experiment with different settings and get share their results.

Re: SDS200 Observations

The last SDS update was April 15, so it might be a while. As I mentioned at RR, it would be nice to be able to add per frequency filters for conventional systems. So far, I've had overall good results with "Wide Inverted" when I've needed to add filtering. I think you're right about SDR, but only fo...

Re: NXDN Network 178 Site 13

Possible. Although, the fact that it shows neighbor sites down on the Cape makes me think it's going further out as opposed to going somewhere else. There's also a possible "Site 12" out in Paxton. The license exists, but I haven't been able to verify activity on the site, so haven't listed it. The ...

I'll be up with a friend Friday. We plan to leave as early as possible in the morning, but arrival time will depend on Boston traffic. We'll be there most of the day, as long as my friend isn't too whiny. Can't make Saturday. I keep asking for you at the GEMOTO tent, but you never seem to be around.

Re: NXDN Network 178 Site 13

Looking at the FCC information for RDC isn't all that illuminating. It's possible that there are several different licensees involved. Tracking that down might require searching by frequency. Wonky is a good term for it, and the FCC data doesn't seem to be all that up to date. If the neighbor sites ...

Re: NXDN Network 178 Site 13

Nothing up here in Stoughton. In New Bedford that frequency MIGHT be part of their Cap+ trunk system. I still haven't had the time to drive down towards there and figure that entire system out. All of which is to say, that I don't think they'd be part of a NXDN commercial system. Then again, it's Ne...

Driving into Boston just now I heard 12289 on the 700Mhz Overlay. Sounded like a medical proceed out team, but not Boston EMS. It's starting to get busy as "the pack" starts to hit the last couple of miles. Add 12291 to the list. Sounded like a medical tent, requesting a BLS or ALS ambulance for tra...

Re: Help to ID

Thanks! I did check the Wiki, but somehow missed it. I did see it in the NEFD database, but didn't think that I'd be able to receive it that well here. I did notice that I copied mostly 6600 on Slot 2, but sometimes got 6500 on the same slot. That could just be due to the flaky reception. That's one...
