288 - Millennium Maintenance and Powersweeping. I just happened to be driving a job site I heard mentioned and saw their dumpster sitting there. Oddly they didn't come up when I did a search for Medford-area dumpster companies.

Re: Comtronics MotoTrbo TRS Decoding Project

As far as the East Boston HC, it sounds like the senior shuttle is run in house, but the security/BMC shuttle might be contracted out. Then again, who knows? 105 would make sense for Paul Revere as they have several 10x TGs already. There used to be a crane service on the UHF trunk, but I haven't he...

Re: Lowell General - 453.0750 (CWID only)

Then we should synchronize the terminology. I'll work on replacing "SMC" with "LGH", which will of course cause confusion between Lawrence General and Lowell General hospitals. Both of which run ALS systems. Lawrence now has BLS ambulances as well and use ambulances for the paramedics. They seem to ...

Re: Lowell General - 453.0750 (CWID only)

Even though the Wiki shows ALS for Lowell and a bunch of surrounding towns, as being provided by Saint's Memorial, it's actually Lowell General. Saints is now part of Lowell General Hospital. The listing at the LGH website may not be 100% accurate. There are some overlaps between LGH and Trinity Amb...

Re: MSP Use of Low Band VHF?

I think it's more likely that unmarked units don't have low band. The 800 antennas generally look like cell phone antennas or something not police related. A low band whip or even base loaded coil antenna just screams police.

The frequencies used by the Exeter site are licensed to ICE, but at the Hopkington and Johnston sites only. Again, just some of the 900Mhz weirdness that we see.

Re: ICE DMR Trunk Unlicensed Sites - Clarification

Of course this is all more or less guess work. It's good to have someone who knows the area take a look. Ahh, the Gardner Rd site is on the access road to the Cranston Portuguese Rod & Gun Club in the 400 block of Gardner Rd. I will take a ride by there and see what I get for "hits". Thanks for the ...

Re: ICE DMR Trunk Unlicensed Sites - Clarification

That's a possibility, but the actual location (based on what Bill provided) is about 1/4 mile off of Gardner Road. There's no ASR data for that one. The one near the tow company shows a total height of 684 feet, which would give good coverage. ETA: Adding "FAA Obstacles" to the search adds a lot of ...

Re: Any RECENT SDS200 opinions?

I've had mine since they first came out, so it's 3 years I think. I would expect that newer radios come with the latest firmware. Even if they don't, it's easy to do. I bought a SDS100 back right after Thanksgiving and that had the latest firmware so I don't think it's a problem. I run audio shutoff...

Re: Any RECENT SDS200 opinions?

I agree with Deacon. I've had zero problems with my SDS200 other than the hum. Even at that, the hum was mostly fixed with the firmware update and I had the hardware piece for months before I got around to installing it. BTW, Deacon, thanks for mentioning the firmware update. The hum returned a few ...

There's a license for Westford for the 900 Mhz site. It's just that the licensed frequencies aren't actually in use there.

Re: ICE DMR Trunk Unlicensed Sites - Clarification

It's near the Tubing Park. The FCC data says "Off Powers Road," which it is. I found that by accident while researching the frequencies for Waltham. 938.4250 at two sites. One is Westford, the other is in Middleton. More on that in a second. Anyway, I was out in the Westford area during the time per...

I've updated the Wiki with the known IDs.

I've heard 288 on Site 2, but still haven't been able to ID it.

I'll listen to 208 on Site 3 and see if I can ID it.

Re: ICE DMR Trunk Unlicensed Sites - Clarification

In previous conversations on the topic, the subject of "market licenses" came up. If you do a deep drill down on the ICE 900 licenses you'll find some that don't listen specific sites for licenses. As you mention Industrial is not all that specific with frequencies used sometimes. The Salem site was...

That's interesting. Going to CAD dispatch would explain not seeing any AAA related traffic on the ICE system. TG 28 used to be almost non stop, but has just died. The last hit I had on that TG was on 3/28. Not that I listened because it's really boring, but it was good for testing my setup if I chan...

I did some more listening today on Site 2 and heard more MWRTA traffic. There were various calls to and from Route x units. As most of you know, Comtronics is now owned by Bear Communications out of Dallas, TX. Just about all of the Comtronics licenses are now in the Bear Com name. This page, http://tinyurl.com/y9eotqz8 has all of the current licenses with locations. It's interesting to note that there are 900Mhz trunkin...

Back when I worked night downtown we'd see the Veola trucks at their work sites downtown. That's if you want to s...
